Didn't really visit it but we were in Oakland only for the night to catch an early morning flight and the hotel, which provided an early morning shuttle to airport, was near some body of water. But have visited the lake in the past and this is one of Oakland's better attractions. Frankly, the hotel was HORRID! Uncomfortable beds, clientele really sketchy.

People are friendly and nice except for the BBQ Betty's and Karen's. You can find everything you want at the lake. Good music a variety of food trucks and there is a great restaurant on the lake called Lake Chalet the food and happy hour are memorable to say the least.TundeUnited States

I like being around the lake Merritt area and I think it's a good idea to get a room in this area time to time it's very quiet here. The staff is very nice. I love getting a good night's sleep here.
