Company information

The Company, Hills and Dales Accommodation, was established in 2008 by Tim and Diane Savory, who manage it along with their five dedicated staff who have been with the Company since inception 16 years GO. Tim is in charge of the ongoing repairs and maintenance along with any new projects to improve the property, Douglas Muhlope is the Reservations Manager, and staff supervisor, and Diane does the marketing, manages the websites and accounting and organizes the catering. Tim and Diane left Zimbabwe when their farm property was confiscated by the Zimbabwean Government in 2000. They left Zimbabwe after 56 years, with their three Jack Russells, Chilly, China and Twister, and a truck of possessions, to arrive on the property that was owned by Diane's father, Fred Maud. When Diane's Father passed away in 2007, they decided to start converting the old and extremely rundown 23 ha property, into a 3-Star grading, self-catering Establishment, with the South African Tourism Board. Two very popular Event Venues, called Jabulani and Hlala Lapha, as well as the Fish Eagle Lodge, three swimming pools and the four double Guinea Fowl Rooms were added to the complex. All the old existing buildings have been renovated, and this is ongoing year after year. The garden has been transformed into a 'Garden of Eden' with guests often commenting on how breathtaking it is. This has taken us 17 years of back breaking hard work with continued upgrades. We held our two first and very successful Conferences in our new Conference Room at the end of 2024 and upgraded our solar system with another inverter, solar panels and battery power. Our target market is for those guests looking for a homely, relaxed countryside venue in a rustic three-star environment. Guests should not expect a new upmarket hotel type Establishment because this is what we are not.
