A special island to enjoy – and a wonderful and undisputable place to relax Cedar Retreat is a retreat in the real sense of the word. A hideaway and sanctuary from the world of traffic, discos, dogs, and roosters. Relax to the distant sound of the surf below the property, the twittering of birds during the day and the chirping from tiny tree-frogs and cicadas through the night. This thatched geodesic dome-house, including two cottages, is set on a sloping hillside on the Caribbean Island of Bequia, perched 200 feet above sea-level with a view over the Grenadine islands Balliceaux, Battowia and Mustique.
I’m a fashion design entrepreneur with a love for creativity, culture, and soulful travel. London has been my creative home, but discovering Bequia changed my course of life. This magical, authentic island captured my heart, and I bought this beautiful, unique home here—now my sanctuary.
Cedar Retreat is located on Bequia, the largest island of the Grenadines, the closest to the “mainland” of St. Vincent. The property lies in an unpopulated area on Mount Pleasant, (a name that says it all) elevated on a cliff 200 feet above Mount Pleasant Bay. It’s a short 10-minute walk to the nearest sandy beach Ravine and about 20 minutes to Hope Beach . The Sugar Hill Bar and Restaurant with a small mini mart, is only a 15 minute’s walk from your home. A 15 minute drive will take you down to the ‘capitol’. The charming village of Port Elizabeth………….………and the leeward pristine sands of Lower Bay and Princess Margaret beach.
