Located in Bluewell, just minutes from the Hatfield-McCoy Pocahontas Trailhead, our home is ATV-friendly with plenty of parking for trucks and trailers. Ride directly from the house to the trails! After a long day of riding, hiking, or exploring, you’ll love kicking back in one of two cozy living rooms or gathering around the firepit under the stars.
The fully equipped kitchen makes dining in a breeze, and local restaurants like Gino’s Pizza, Trail 10 Pub & Grill, and The RailYard are just a short drive away. With two spacious bathrooms, smart TVs, Wi-Fi, and pet-friendly accommodations, Big Country Escape has everything you need for a comfortable, unforgettable stay. There is even a garage on property for you to store your items.

Meet Your Hosts – Tony & Elisa
Tony and Elisa are the proud owners of Big Country Escape, a dream they built together to share their love for the mountains, the trails, and good old-fashioned hospitality. Lifelong residents of Hampton Roads, VA, they fell in love with the Bluefield area for its natural beauty, welcoming community, and easy access to the Hatfield-McCoy Trail system.
They have two boys, Trevor and Briley, and as a family, the four of them enjoy spending time together exploring the trails and soaking in all that West Virginia has to offer. Whether it’s riding UTVs, discovering local landmarks, or simply enjoying quiet evenings around the firepit, Big Country Escape is a reflection of the fun and connection they value most.
Elisa brings nearly 25 years of leadership experience in nonprofit development and community engagement, while Tony is known for his hands-on know-how, big heart, and trail-riding spirit. Together, they’ve created a space that’s clean, comfortable, and ready for adventure.
