Steve Felgate discovered Castara 25 years ago and fell in love with its raw beauty, lovely people, and tropical climate. He had a vision for creating somewhere that embraced life’s simple luxuries and celebrated the gorgeous natural surroundings. That vision lives on today through a dedicated local team known for their warmth, openness of spirit, and heartfelt welcome — led by our General Manager, Maisha, who brings fresh energy and a deep love for Castara to the role.

Castara’s gorgeous sandy beach is just a short walk away. Here, you’ll find safe swimming in the azure Caribbean, sun loungers under the natural shade of palms, and local bars perfect for enjoying a chilled beer at sunset. You’ll see the fishing boats bobbing into the bay loaded with the daily catch, and the Seine fishermen who pull in great nets onto the beach.
Strolling down to the village, you’ll find a friendly, local vibe that is welcoming to visitors and invites you to experience the relaxed rhythms of Caribbean village life.Small restaurants are dotted around the village and serve tasty Caribbean cuisine.
