An authentic, off-the-track experience to get to know the local Nambian farm life. A small business, efficiently run by a Herero/Himba family. Good catering, kids are still talking about the camp fire, sleeping on the platform and star-gazing…

It’s a farm stay not a lodge so don’t expect everything to be perfect. Small staff are charming and very helpful. A drive to sunset lookout was well worth it. The pool is lovely.

The staff were lovely - so friendly and helpful. They organised a sunset trip to an amazing rocky out crop, which was a lovely bonus. The place is really secluded and you feel very much in Namibia proper but it isn't that difficult to find and the...

Most adventurous way to get to Etoko Farm, at least when you are using just a regular car and not a 4WD ;-). It is really in the middle of nowhere with no distraction and just the personnel and some people from the villages around. We loved the...

Property information

Etoko Farm Camp is located in the small and peaceful Herero village of Otumue, about 28 km north- east of Uis in the Ohungu Conservancy. Originally planned as a hideaway for family and friends, the camp is now open for individual travelers and exclusive tours interested in a special, intensive contact with Namibia's nature and an authentic encounter with the culture of the Herero and Himba communities. A stay at Etoko Farm Camp offers the opportunity to meet people from the community - to learn about the history and customs of the Herero people but also to learn more about life in the rural areas of Namibia. The Farm Camp offers: - 4 " Sky Decks " where you can sleep safely - either in an open bed or in a tent - with an incomparable view of the Brandberg and the unique starry sky of Africa. Each platform has water, light and electricity. If desired, an additional tent with standing height can be erected in the shade of the platforms. You do not need a mosquito net – in the evening pleasantly cool wind from the Atlantic Ocean guarantees a good night's sleep. - 2 Chalets with private terrace and bathrooms In the farmhouse we offer guests 2 double rooms (one with terrace facing the pool). The two rooms share a bathroom with shower. The pool in the farm area is filled with clear water from our farm fountain and is not chlorinated. We use the water for the garden of the house and the camp. Electricity we generate environmentally friendly with solar panels. Meals are served either in our Dining Room or poolside, depending on the weather.
