Makulu Safari Campers welcomes families with children and provides a friendly and personalized service.
‘Makulu camp’ is a delightful mix of an amazing array of adventure fun. The amphibians, aquatic and terrestrial species belongs to the Udawalawa National Park, frequently passes and dwell within the premises and you can experience and expedite the behaviors of them closely. Makulu Campers follows strict wildlife conservation policies. All waste material is disposed of in an eco-friendly manner, guests are encouraged to use water sparingly and made aware of nature conservation. The mobile camping sites are set up before the guests arrive and cleared out completely afterwards, in keeping with strict eco-friendly policies. UdaWalawe National park is situated about 170 km from Colombo. Covering an area of 30,821 hectares this park was set up in the year 1972 to protect the catchment area of the huge man-made rainwater reservoir, with a surface area of 3400ha, located at the south end of the river Walawe that flows down to the sea at Ambalantota close to Hambantota. As the park lies within the dry zone Evergreen Forests, that retains their leaves even during the dry season and mostly the vegetation is grassland. The Park is surrounded by cultivated farmlands.
