This is a Korean traditional house, hanok, built in the mid-19th century. It is the oldest house in the clan village of Yeoju Yi Clan in Toero village where hanoks are densly packed. The name of the historic house "Seoun" came from the penname of Yi Tae-hyeong (he was born in 1895 and died in 1973) who moved to this house in 1936 to care for his parents. Next to the house you can see other heritage houses in the Toero village. Near the house, you can enjoy a lake and mountain view and also Korean restaurants serving Bulgogi and Bibim-bab in 3 mins distance from the house on foot. [Special gifts for International Guests] 1. a free ridde to/from Miryang KTX station based on reservation 2. a free rental of Hanbok, a Korean traditional costume for photography shooting 3. 50% discount for activities such as wood printing and stamp carving. [the six unique Benefits of the property] 1. This traditional house is a precious place with cultural meaning of 19-th centuray and long family stories. Meanwhile, the interior of the house, including the bathroom and kitchen, was recently remodeled and equipped with modern facilities. 2. You can enjoy the privilege of experiencing a sound sleep in a traditional ondol room. 3. You can enjoy the privilege of staying at a registered cultural property. 4. You can also appreciate the yard, garden, trees and flowers attached to the house. 5. You can bake sweet potatoes in a traditional Korean oven. 6. A simple breakfast is served at free of charge. [Note] 1. There is an indoor kitchen, but cooking with strong smells such as grilling meat, frying fish, and stew is not allowed. In this case, please use the outdoor paid barbecue facilities. (15,000Won for all) 2. Please be careful not to make noise after 9pm. As the village residents are sensitive to noise at night. 3. Fireworks or candlelight events indoors are prohibited. It is vulnerable to fire. 4. It is a non-smoking area both inside and outside the fence of this old house.
I am the owner of this special traditional cultural house, named Soeun's heritage house built in 19th century. We take pride in the fact that this house itself is a cultural heritage and a precious legacy in my family history. I am happy to be able to share this precious space with our neighbors and good visitors. We open this special space to some selected persons becasue we believe the true value of the heritage is related to sharing the valuable things with neighbors.
1. You will love the very quiet and clean village environment and the laid-back countryside atmosphere of the village where we are located. 2. You will love the natural scenery of the mountains and lakes surrounding the town. 3. You can visit the Wiyangji Lake, a famous tourist attraction nearby, in a 5-minute drive away. 4. There are numerous Korean food restaurants and nice cafes with lake views nearby. 5. It is a good and economical base camp for exploring other tourist attractions in Miryang, such as Yeongnamnu Pavilion, Geumsidang Pavilion, Wolyeonjeong Pavilion, Pyochungsa Temple, and Eoreumgol Valley.
