7 minutes drive from Tramore and 15 from Waterford City. This is a 2 bedroom rustic cottage retreat in the countryside within a 15 minute cycle to the Mount Congreve entrance of the new Waterford Greenway. There is a king bed in the main room and a double and single in the 2nd bedroom upstairs. There is one bathroom with shower and full kitchen. Huge garden with trampoline and swing, bring a soccer or rugby ball and enjoy a kick around. Enjoy all the Sunny South East has to offer. Extremely peaceful with good vibes + comfy beds.
Your onsite host is Stephanie who lives in the main house. If during your stay you don’t feel something is up to scratch let Stephanie know and we’ll do our best to sort it out. We have included all of our personal recommendation on how to make the most from your time in Tadpole Lodge.
Some of our top recommendations include Curraghmore House and Gardens – the Historic Home of the 9th Marquis of Waterford. You may in fact meet Lord Waterford himself. This is definitely quirky, and is very unique and is well worth getting off the beaten track for. Call to arrange a tour of the House, Shell House and Gardens. All Together Now Festival is held here. Mount Congreve Estate – A 18th century Georgian mansion designed by John Roberts 70 acres of woodland with 14 km’s of paths. These World Famous Gardens are just over five minutes from here, there’s also a Café and Nursery, and if cycling the Greenway you can call in. The local beer is Dungarvan, Gin is Blackwater and Waterford now have our own whiskey distillery, which was the old Waterford brewery for 200 years with bottling only commencing a few years ago. Seagull bakery in Tramore is great for bread and pastries and is largely organic and sourdough. Sarah also mills some of her own flour on the premises. It is only open Wednesday to Saturday from 8am, and it is on the main street. Also in Dunmore East + Patrick St in the City opposite Momo’s. The Blaa a soft bread roll is unique to Waterford and was brought to Waterford by the Huguenots in the 18th Century. Available in Supervalu Tramore and Ardkeen Stores. Ardkeen Quality Foodstores on the Dunmore road sells local vegetables, cheeses and other goodies, you might not want to do your main shop here but the food is very good, and there is a great selection of Irish craft beers and a great Wine store. World Wide Wines beside Eddie Rockets in Ardkeen is also an excellent wine store. Supervalu in Tramore is adjacent to the church you can see from your back door. There’s also an Aldi, Tesco and Lidl. The best Fish/Seafood is Billy Burke in Ballybricken in Waterford.
