Company information

The Beach House was built towards the end of the19th Century. The ground floor was originally a restaurant, with 4 apartments above. It is uncertain when the restaurant closed down, but it was then used as an annexe of bedrooms to the Chalet Hotel which used to sit majestically on the cliff top above the pier, on the site that is now Aman Court flats. When the hotel was sold off, the the Ground Floor was acquired and converted into a family home in 1981, and the family lived there until all the children had grown up and flown the nest. It has undergone several re-furbishments since, most recently converting the ground floor into 2 apartments, the Promenade Apartment being on the pier side of the building. The location is idyllic, particularly in the summer; The Beach House is a fantastic base for any holiday on the Isle of Wight, whether travellers just want to relax on the beach, walk, hike or cycle round the gorgeous West Wight, or explore the multitude of attractions that are available across the Island.

The Promenade Apartment is situated on the ground floor of this large house. It has 2 spacious bedrooms, accommodating up to 4 people and has one free parking space next to the house. There is a brand new kitchen for 2022 which is fully equipped with pretty much everything you would want on a holiday if you want to cook; but there is also a kettle barbecue in your own exclusive Beach Hut which is located on the adjoining green, This is a wonderful spot to eat al fresco, or simply watch one of the glorious sunsets with a glass of something in your hand. However if you really don't want to cook, the Waterfront Restaurant and Bar, which has the reputation of being one of the finest on the Island is only 100 metres along the promenade. There is one bathroom which is also brand new for 2022, (with shower, no bath), a brand new kitchen, laundry facilities, free wi-fi, 42' flat screen TV and a Blu ray / DVD player. Big fluffy white towels are provided along with Egyptian cotton sheets. It really is the perfect location for a wonderful seaside holiday. We welcome children of all ages; a travel cot and high chair is available. There is central heating for when it is cooler. ...

Neighbourhood information

Totland Bay is a sleepy seaside village . It lies in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Beach is pretty, sheltered, and extremely safe for bathing. The beach is sandy at low tide, and sandy Colwell Bay is very close. On the north west side of the island, it enjoys spectacular views across the Solent. In the summer the yachting, particularly around Cowes Week is incredibly picturesque. The Waterfront Restaurant and Bar - one of the best on the island - is only 100 metres away.
