Company information

Shepherd's Loch Glamping has been in operation since April 2020. It is a small, local operation situated on a working farm set in the Aberdeenshire countryside, approximately six miles from the coast. It offers the ideal place for families and friends to get back to basics, enjoy nature, and escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Property information

Shepherd's Loch is an off-grid glamping site which has 6 huts, each with it's own unique features. Crannoch Yurt sits on stilts overlooking a loch. Guests can enjoy the nearby waterfall or relax in the wood fired hot tub. This is the ideal accommodation for couples looking for a romantic getaway. Otter House nestles into its own little hillside. With an all wood interior, a quirky round window looking our over the loch, Otter is the ideal place for families to enjoy a fun filled holiday. Dragonfly is our two person wooden wigwam. It has a small, fenced area to the front, affording guests privacy. Graham's Bothy is a mini house. It has a roofed veranda where guests can enjoy the view out over the loch. It also has a wood fired hot tub. Beehive is our largest property. The yurt, containing the sleeping area, is connected to a sixpence shaped kitchen and toilet. This family accommodation is spacious and comfortable. The Wheel House is a converted ship's wheelhouse. Best described as unique, it still has some of the original fittings. Our properties have their own toilets, showers, cooking and eating areas. All linen, crockery and cooking utensils are provided. Guests can enjoy kayaking on the ponds or book a session in our sauna. All the huts are set in their own space and have views over the surrounding countryside or the natural setting of the site.

Neighbourhood information

Shepherd’s Loch is situated on a working farm in rural Aberdeenshire. It is a short distance away from the lovely coastal villages of Gardenstown, Pennan and Crovie. The hidden coves of New Aberdour and lovely beaches of Banff and Sunnyside are close by, with Cullykhan bay, site of a Pictish fort, also worth a visit. Time it right, and you might be lucky enough to spot a pod of dolphins off the coast! Aberdeenshire is on the Castle Trail, with Fyvie Castle only 14 miles from Shepherd’s Loch. There are also some local nature reserves well worth seeing - Forvie Sands, Troup Head and the Loch of Strathbeg. For those who enjoy hiking, there are several walks along the disused Buchan and Fortmartine railway line as well as many coastal, woodland and low-level hill walks to enjoy in the area. For the more adventurous, Lochter Activity Centre offers a wide range of outdoor activities.
