The cottage can sleep up to 4 people and consists of • Ground floor master bedroom with king size bed, hotel quality duvet and pillows, crisp white cotton bed linen and fluffy towels. A walk in wardrobe, and newly fitted modern en-suite with walk in shower. • Two single first floor bedrooms each with their own staircase (limited headroom in these rooms) • Ground floor newly fitted modern family bathroom. • Well equipped kitchen with everything the discerning guest could need including Nespresso coffee maker, Dualit toaster etc and enjoy a hamper filled with locally sourced treats on your arrival with our compliments. • The sitting room is beautifully furnished with stylish and comfortable sofas and chairs to sink into, plus occasional furniture, desk and a dining area. This magnificent room has a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and an electric woodburner-style stove, a lovely large social space to relax in, watch tv, a Bluetooth speaker for your music, read, catch up on emails (if you must!) or simply enjoy dinner with family and friends.
Mum of two grown-up children and married to John for over 30 years. I absolutely love living in the Peak District, walking and playing tennis. I love family holidays, eating out and travelling near and far to visit new places. I'm passionate about interior design and enjoyvisiting galleries historical houses and gardens. Having Chatsworth on my doorstep is amazing and I never tired of going there.
The village of Over Haddon (situated just two miles from Bakewell) in the Peak District National Park. A little gem of a village, it offers a scattering of stone cottages, an excellent country pub, along with being a magnet for walkers looking to explore the beautiful Lathkill Dale. Just two miles away is the delightful town of Bakewell, which is famous for its Bakewell Pudding and retains a delightful rural atmosphere offering a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as frequent local farmers’ markets. There are many stately homes to visit including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall to mention just a few. Over Haddon is an ideal base for exploring the whole of the Peak District.
