This small, friendly B&B is set in the village of Sandbank on the shores of Holy Loch, and enjoys stunning views across the loch, mountains and out to the Firth of Clyde. Just a short hop from Glasgow by road and ferry, a few minutes drive from Dunoon and within walking distance of Holy Loch Marina, Clyde View makes an ideal place for a short break as well as a longer holiday for those looking for outdoor activities or simply relaxation in a beautiful setting. Guests are welcome to enjoy the garden, which is sheltered beneath a rhododendron-clad hillside and planted with shrubs, trees and flowers that are a spectacle of colour in the spring and summer. You might like to relax on the top ‘terrace’, with its view across the loch and mountains, or make use of the barbecue area on a warm evening. The dining/sitting room is also available to guests throughout the day and evening. With its views across the loch, it's a lovely place to simply sit or enjoy a takeaway meal. There are plenty of games, puzzles, books and more for your use too.
We, Nigel and Helen, moved to Clyde View in December 2019 after falling in love with the area on a holiday here. We look forward to welcoming you to our home, providing you with a tasty Scottish breakfast every morning, and chatting to you about some of the wonderful local places we've discovered.
Scotland's Cowal Peninsula is a wonderful place for outdoor activities. With walking, cycling, mountain biking, running, sailing, canoeing and kayaking, fishing, golf and so much more right on the doorstep, whatever your passion, you’re sure to find an opportunity here. Some great places to explore within a few miles of Clyde View include the 120-acre Benmore Botanic Gardens, picturesque Kilmun Arboretum and the dramatic rocky gorge known as Puck's Glen. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and Argyll Forest Park together offer acres of beautiful scenery, from craggy mountains and hidden glens to scenic lochs and rushing rivers. There are 2 pubs, a shop and takeaway in Sandbank itself, while the town of Dunoon, just 3 miles away, has a fascinating museum, a leisure centre, independent cinema and a good selection of shops, cafés, coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways.
