Hi, If you're looking for a holiday getaway with family or friends then we're sure you would love it here. Our converted Lakeland barn features a real log fire, stone walls, wooden and natural floors, exposed beams and direct access to a private garden overlooking fields and hills. We're ideally placed here to explore The Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales. With our optional hot tub with views across open countryside this makes the perfect Lake District holiday retreat.
Our home is in the place we met on holiday in the Lake District. We are originally from Durham and Manchester and 36 years later still finds us here. We converted the barn whilst raising our family here. They are all grown up now and have headed out on their own adventures. Ian is a photographer and Anne-Marie a Speech Therapist working in the NHS. We both enjoy travelling and outdoor activities. Anne-Marie likes writing lists.. Ian has nearly got through all his DIY lists written by Anne-Marie so now we are ready to welcome guests. We will be on hand next door during your stay. We appreciate you will have come to get away from it all so will leave you to get on with your holiday but would be available for any local advice you might need or just to chat if you want to.
We are in a rural position overlooking fields and hills with easy access to local amenities and a short distance to the main tourist areas of the Lake District We're not far from the railway station (about 4 miles). The railway station is Oxenholme station which is on the main West Coast line connecting London, Birmingham, Manchester, Lancaster, The Lake District and Glasgow. if booking train tickets please book tickets to Oxenholme as Kendal is one station beyond on a minor trunk line. This trunk line stops additionally at Staveley and Windermere which is an easy way to get into the heart of the Lake District should you need to.
