Maison du Lac has been specially created and by the owner Maison du Lac is a Bioclimatic, Passif House* built along the edge of a koi carp lake so that the sun and moon light reflects on to the private terraces of the 5 apartments. There is also an 18m long swimming pool and a children's play area. The Bioclimatic concept of a south facing building with covered terraces maximises the suns heat during the winter months and avoids overheating in the summer. The heating and cooling is controlled by an ultra efficient thermodynamic double flux ventilating system. As the apartment is extremely well insulated and airtight the energy consumption will not be more then 15 Kwh/m2/year (about 10 x less than a typical house) The northern side of the building has a traditional provencal mas style, the southern lake side with its large covered terraces and bay windows has more of a tropical colonial feel.

I moved to France in 2001 to design and build the luxury Hotel Chateau de Massillan in Uchaux. After selling the hotel in 2013 I decided with my wife and 2 young children to create a more family friendly style of working and living.
