Rainbow Beach Apartment is located on the main road in CALIBISHIE with a 180 degree view of the Atlantic Ocean where the water is so close you can almost touch it. The Apartment is situated upstairs and consists of one fully furnish bath with all amenities . Two bedrooms each with queen size beds and a queen size sofa bed in the living room. Each bedroom has brand new latest model Air Condition with remote control. Standing fans are also available if needed. The living room is very spacious with vaulted ceiling and ceiling fan, it is adjoining with the front verandah which faces the main road and the large back balcony which faces the ocean , back yard and coconut trees . There is also a very larch porch at the back with hammocks adjoining with the back verandah Large whales are often seen across the ocean flapping their fins. The French Islands of Les Saintes, Guadeloupe and Marie Galante can also be seen across the Atlantic Ocean . There are two supermarkets in the village and other small shops. Tourists information center, Credit Union, ATM are all situated within walking distance. Nets of Reef Restaurant & Bar previously known as Rainbow Restaurant located adjacent to the property, it is privately owned and independently managed. It specializes in International, American, Creole and Vegetarian Cuisine. There is a buffet bar every Sunday which consists of different variety of foods. Also every Sunday night there is Karaoke entertainment which locals and guests participate in and this is usually between 7pm till 11pm. Rainbow Apartment is situated about 12 miles from Portsmouth which is the second town on the island. It is also about 20 minutes from the present Charles Douglas Airport and about 10 minutes from the new international Airport which is in the process of being built.
Hello, my name is Molly I am the owner of the property and Susan Marcellin is the Manager of the property, she is from Austria but has been living in CALIBISHIE for many years and has her home and family here. I was born and raised on this property which i inherited from my parents. I named the property Rainbow Beach Apartment as the beautiful colors of the Rainbow have always mesmerize me. I attended the CAIBISHIE Government school which is still in the same location which brings back enjoyable memories. As a teenager i had to travel to Roseau to attend the Convent High School. After graduation i went to Portsmouth to teach at a Convent Primary school. After two years of teaching i realized that was not my calling, so i went back to Roseau and started my nursing career which i enjoyed very much. After my nurse training I got married and was blessed with four boys. I then traveled to the United States with my family where i furthered my education and became an OBGYN Nurse Practitioner where i practiced for about 30 years , retired in 2004 and returned home to take care of my aging parents . My Nursing experience has taught me how to understand people of different needs and culture I enjoy meeting people from all over the world with all different culture and customs, Some of the guests return for second and third time and some remember me and keep in touch via the internet. I do respect my guests privacy but if invited i would enjoy sitting with them and talk about the history of the property, the village of CALIBISHIE and my Island of DOMINICA. Dominica is named the nature Island of the Caribbean . There are so many beautiful natural places of interest so i usually advise my guests of places that they could visit. I would also advised them on suitable transportation whether it is Rental or public according to their need. We try our best to have our guests leave the island with the best experience ever and some of them usually promise to return .
CALIBISHIE the third most popular village on the island for visitors after Roseau the capital and Portsmouth the second town. Residents from the other towns and villages also love to come to visit or pass through CALIBISHIE on weekends and holidays. CALIBISHIE is located on the north eastern part of the island. It is situated on the bay with the only coral reef on the island. Farming and fishing is the main source of income for the residents, lots of fresh fish, bakery goods, fruits and vegetables is available every day. Nets Of Reefs is one of the few restaurant in CALIBISHIE, is adjacent to the Rainbow Beach Apt and is private and independently owned. It serves local and international dishes, there are also roadside SNACKETS which are within walking distance . There are two super markets and some smaller shops all within walking distance. The CREDIT UNION is the village bank where USD, EURO and EC can be exchanged, There is also an ATM both within walking distance. The picturesque Red Rock which is overlooking the Atlantic is spectacular and it is located right close to the popular chocolate factory. Pointe Baptiste beach is also in the vicinity with waves good for surfing. BATIBOU is the other popular beach located in a secluded and scenic area close to CALIBISHIE, The popular CHAUDIERE Pool is about two miles away located in BENSE village. The tourist information center and the health center is close by. Small vegetable stands are located by the roadside, larger markets are located in Portsmouth about 12 miles away. The CABRITS where the war between the French and the English fought, the INDIAN RIVER where the Pirates of the CARIBBEAN movie was filmed , and SYNDICATE FALLS where parrots and other beautiful birds can be seen are also located in the PORTSMOUTH area. Located in the east of CALIBISHIE is the popular EMERALD POOL, SPANNY FALLS and JACCO FALLS and STEPS.
