Preplanned itinerary is key since many attractions are open limited days and/or hours. However, with a little planning and calling perhaps, you can have a wonderful time taking in the nearby sites. For example, vineyards may want a reservation but will accommodate walk-ins for tastings; prices also vary. Go early to avoid crowds at Watkins Glen State Park and avoid if you don't want to do many steps which may be wet. Corning and Elmira have museums (like the Rockefeller) to stay cool or Eldridge Park for a carousel ride and miniature golf outdoors! Plus there's Mark Twain's grave and study. Elmira is a lovely city. I used to live there. The hotel was horrible. That was the worst place to stay. I ended up staying with my son. Because of my fall on the hotel property I had to cut my stay short & go home early.Guest review byDianneUnited States

They were eager to answer any questions and concerns we had which showed they cared. The bed was comfortable and the space was located in an area where we were able to explore the finger lakes easily (like Watkins Glen and Ithaca) with only a short drive. There was an air purifier in the bedroom/kitchen area which gave an extra layer of comfort for us. It was easy to get in with a code on the door and we liked there was a fridge.
