the breakfast is quite possibly one of the most incredible things about this hotel. They provide it with your reservation, and it is cooked for you, offered in the room or at a beautiful outdoor courtyard on property with a fireplace. The staff was very helpful, and offered amenities like free rides up the hill to the center of town. This hotel is down by the beach, just a block away, which is why I chose to stay here vs 6 blocks up hill in the center of town. It is quiet, private, a nice sanctuary. they place a lot of emphasis on their spa and the bathrooms. Those latter are amazing, each (I believe) has a tub with bath salts, etc, plus robes, slippers. I did not try the spa, but it seemed to be a destination for many of those staying there. (We were there in the offseason, February). The hotel’s food is quite good too although we only had snacks and a couple drinks at their bar. I believe the rates are a good value, for what you receive.

This is our third time coming to Carmel, and if I win the lotto, I will buy here. It is like nothing else you can experience on the West Coast. There are so many shops, wine tasting, hundreds of wonderful restaurants, and, did I say shopping? We coordinated this trip with a concert at the Sun Set Center. If you can attend a concert there, you will not be let down. It was amazing and within walking distance.

Carmel is a cute, charming seaside town with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Mostly all parking is on-street parallel parking. The Adobe Inn, where we stayed, is located within a block of all the restaurants and shops and even has its own parking garage located below the Inn. At night the town pretty much clears out after 9 or 10, but walking back to the Inn felt safe. The town is also a great base if you are planning on visiting Monterey, 17 Mile Drive, or Big Sur.

The morning and afternoon is the best time to spend it in Carmel. During night time it’s not lit up as you think it would be. But during the day it’s absolutely amazing. All the shops, cafes, restaurants. The walking. Everything is near by. The beach to the town is like 10 min walk. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days

Although a little crowded before Christmas, we loved Carmel.
Although a little crowded before Christmas, we loved Carmel. A lot of good restaurants to eat, not cheap, but a long list of great places. Friendly people. Great beach and other beaches near by. You can visit Monterey, close by.
The location was great. Just on the end of downtown Carmel closer to the beach. We didn’t drive the whole time we were there, walked all around Carmel and also down to the beach daily. The hotel takes up about a whole block with El Fornaio restaurant and a few shops on the ground floor. The rooms are spread out, not your typical setup with hallways. Our room was quite large with a sitting area separated from the bedroom by folding doors and it was quiet at night. Loved all the windows.
Carmel-by-the-Sea is riddled with small charming boutique style accommodations. All of them are unique, but the Tradewinds I find is the most modern and updated as far as design aesthetic goes within a reasonable nightly rate. The rooms are updated, the property is minimal with a buddha fountain and outdoor tables if you want to enjoy a glass of wine or your hotel breakfast, but a majority of your stay should be visiting the beaches and walking about the town.
The room was very spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Due to covid the breakfast area was closed but they gave us a daily starter bag with water, juice, a mini pound cake and a banana. We couldn't have asked for more. The hotel is within walking distance to all the restaurants, shops and the beach. We would definitely recommend Carmel Bay View in to other travelers.
The location of this hotel is great to visit Carmel.
As long as you know what to expect for the breakfast, then it’s completely fine and a nice addition to the stay (a glass of OJ, a hot drink, a muffin or croissant). The staff are all very nice (cleaners, gardeners, reception). It’s a nice family owned vibe and the outside decoration of the hotel is quirky and old fashioned / Dutch style.
We stayed only one night, but the staff is so helpful and a quick check in that let us time to enjoy Carmel.
The rooms are very clean.
Amazing location, don’t expect the best views, but it’s 3 streets from center and lots of places to go.
The free parking it’s also amazing you can leave the car there and walk for 10min to the beach and 5 to Ocean ave!
Charming boutique Inn built in the 1940's but well maintained. REAL fireplaces in the rooms! Excellent hot breakfast. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Reasonably close to the main street in downtown Carmel. Carmel is "downhill" from the Inn...a nice walk to the town but best to Uber/Lyft back to the Inn after dinner.
Carmel Inn is a great place! It has everything you need from a swimming pool, whirlpool, restaurant to gym! Centrally located, super close to shops and some restaurants! It was quiet, the rooms were clean and the food was good. Even though it‘s a rather big hotel, you still get an intimate feeling.
Great Hotel, Perfectly placed in Carmel If you like walking to the downtown to shop and eat. Daily walks to the beach are wonderful and again perfect location to do this activity daily. The courtyard was lovely with tables and umbrellas to sit and enjoy the beautiful outdoors
Great location to the main area of Carmel by the Sea and the beaches. Staff is very friendly. They have fresh baked cookies at check in and checkout. They were very helpful mailing me my AirPods when I accidentally left it in the room. Highly recommend for a quick visit
Service and food were exceptional, everything has been recently renovated and is super comfortable. I was able to work remotely from the hotel and enjoy Carmel later in the day, with the beach just 1min away. The hotel is brand new and I can’t recommend it enough!
Having stayed in chain hotels prior to our stay at Carmel Country Inn we were met with a warm welcome, tea and cookies. A fire in our spacious room and a fantastic breakfast. We throughly enjoyed our stay in beautiful Carmel and at Carmel Country Inn.
The hotel room was comfortable and clean. The room was cozy, with limited space to move around and small shower, but still very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Excellent location to explore Carmel, as it is in the centre.
The hotel's location is amazing. It's easy to walk to the beach. The hotel is Old Charm for Carmel with wonderful staff. There are so many places to eat here, but the hotel is also great. It has an amazing happy hour.
It was very comfortable!!! Great room / fireplace / parking/ hot tub/ quite. Breakfast was delicious. We have stayed in several other hotels in Carmel . Some much pricer. This was the best. You will see us again.
Unimpressively mediocre room for a ridiculous 5 star boutique hotel prize. I come frequently to Carmel and check out new locations to stay. This place will become one of the more unpleasant memories.
Great location next to the Carmel River with a walking path near it. It’s a large property with a number of stand alone cottages available. The inn is very dog friendly!
In the center of Carmel, close to everything, Free parking, the rooms are spacious and , overall it is very good value for money. I would come again to this hotel.
