I appreciate the clean room and private entrance - though we had to carry our luggage up the stairs to maintain that privacy. The sauna was great. However, the booking stated waterfront views, which we did not have. We had storefront views, which were beautiful, but they were not what I had paid for. The decor/furniture is cheap, leaving us uneasy about using it. For example, the coat rack was frail and shaky. We were afraid to hang anything on it. The room was spacious but not set up well for removing your coat, boots/shoes, etc. Extremely overpriced for a subpar room. I know that a booking after ours was only $169ish, which seems more appropriate than our ridiculous price. The staff was great. They're just trying to skid by using cheaper, aesthetically pleasing items and charging as if they were top of the line quality - which they are not. Overall, a good experience. Would I stay here again? Yes, but for a MUCH cheaper price. Would I recommend it? Yes, but I would caution them based on the above information.

Absolutely wonderful homestay with a warm and fascinating host who has an incredible life story. The room, located in the main house, is peaceful and comfortable. The shared bathroom is spotless and well-equipped. Mornings start with coffee and tea, which is a lovely touch. The farm itself is cute, home to friendly cats, goats, dogs, and other delightful animals.

The room with a view was awesome. Plus our room had a jacuzzi in good working condition. It was a good big room with a king sized bed.

    Quaint & fun little town.

Quaint & fun little town. Great jumping off point for the Apostle Islands. A lot of driving from MSP for a weekend excursion (prior to a work trip in Minnesota), but very happy I did it! I would return.

    The boat tour was fun.

The boat tour was fun. The Rittenhouse sucked and was overpriced. Dinner at the Bayfield Inn was misleading. 4 scallops fit on a tablespoon and a weird tasting tiny steak for over 50 bucks. We asked to sit at an open table by the window and denied , even though they don't take reservations. We stopped at a couple local pubs and had a great time there.

    Mobile check-in worked nicely.

Mobile check-in worked nicely. Staff were always a message away to answer any questions or offer excellent tips for where to eat. Nice lawn area to relax, and each room on the 2nd floor has a small outdoor veranda area with chairs!

Bayfield looks like it's on the East coast being set on Lake Superior. Lots of the buildings are Victorian-looking and with the sailboats everywhere on the lakefront, it's incredibly picturesque. It's small and inviting. The Apostle Island ferry tours are the best and the option to go to Madeline Island via ferry is fun and interesting. I didn't realize there are so many apple/berry orchards around. My favorite was Hauser's. It's a small, family-run orchard with a beautiful big red barn that they ordered from Sear's back in the day. It's gorgeous, they make the best cider and have a wonderful gift shop. I bought a bag of Duchess apples and made pie with them when I got home-SO good.
