Not a lot to do in Hicks Bay itself, walk to old wharf is interesting. In the area there is the East Cape Lighthouse (lots of steps but worth it), most easterly point of New Zealand. There is really not much to do at Hicks Bay.
There is really not much to do at Hicks Bay. It is a good, mid-point stopping place for a trip around East Cape. The nearby village of Te Araroa was more interesting, but there’s not much to do there either!Guest review byAlexiaNew Zealand
