Bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was spacious. I chose the Queen room which was a good size and had its own bathroom. I was impressed by the hair dryer as it was good quality .. not cheap and nasty like some hotels provide. A bottle of fresh milk in the fridge. .
Would stay again if in this region The meals at the pub were fabulous. There are not many cafe/restaurants to choose from in this country town so the pub provides good meals and well patronized by the locals.

Being in the middle of the vineyard was special. Waking up to the moon going down with the sun rising on the hills was magical for us. It was like looking at a painting each morning. The pod is amazing, small, cozy and stylish with great heating and superb water pressure. We had the perfect combination of food for breakfast left in the pod for us . Our host was gracious at the wine tasting, welcoming and knowledgeable and shared stories about the vineyard. Having a hot tub outside was definitely inspired. We shared the George Road Syrah in the tub watching the sun go down. - perfection

Loved our stay! We are return visitors and had the best time. Lunch at the onsite restaurant was excellent and the food (lamb pies and lasagne) we ordered for room service on the two nights were amazing. The room was very comfortable and I loved waking up to the amazing vineyard views in the mornings and watching the most beautiful sunsets. Thoughtful touches like breakfast provisions, mountain bikes for use on the trail and great Sans toiletries in the bathroom. Friendly and warm service. Wish we could have stayed for longer! We’ll be back. Thanks Pen and Nick for hosting us - it’s a privilege being able to stay at the vineyard and have the whole place to ourselves at night!

The Amberley Hotel is an "Oasis" on the out-skirts of Christchurch.
Arriving on a late afternoon flight my wife & I just wanted to get out of Christchurch & avoid the "Knock-Off Traffic" around the City.
A short 45mins north is the wee town of Amberley & the Amberley Hotel is a good first night stopover after a tiresome day of travel.
There are soft beds, good food & cold beer.

We are of retirement age, and loved the peace and quietness of this beautiful well maintained motel. Not many places to have dinner at night, but lots of takeaways or dine in at the takeaways.
Easy walk to the town from the Motel.
