Wonderful hotel at a pleasant price. It has everything you need: a private shower, soft and comfortable beds. The reception staff are very friendly and attentive to guests. I especially appreciated the wake-up call service before my flight. The location is quiet and peaceful, allowing you to have a great rest before a flight or during a layover.

Between Dutch Windmills and Flowers

The gateway to the Netherlands, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of the world’s busiest international passenger terminals and is home to the Dutch national airline – KLM.

The airport sits on reclaimed land around 3 metres below sea level on the site of a former huge inland lake. In fact, the name Schiphol may mean 'ship grave', a reference to the ships that would periodically be sunk in its turbulent waters.

A train station serving many Dutch cities lies beneath the terminal building which houses a mini Rijksmuseum exhibition, reference library with multilingual books, and plenty of shops selling the ubiquitous clogs, tulip bulbs and cheese.

Booking.com’s range of Schiphol Airport hotels includes several within the airport grounds. Others are in neighbouring Hoofddorp, a town also within the area of the former lake, whose De Eersteling windmill overlooks a dike encircling a former fort.

Another windmill – the Molen van Sloten – is across a canal from Badhoevedorp on the airport’s north side. To the east the huge Amsterdamse Bos forest is a haven of peace and tranquillity (apart from the occasional aircraft!) and borders Amstelveen. To the south-west is Aalsmeer, a town set on the huge Westeinderplassen Lake, and whose massive flower auction house receives daily consignments from all over the world.

    If you are passing through Schiphol, it's usually good.

    If you are passing through Schiphol, it's usually good. They have a speed track for those making connections with a short layover at passport control. However, in the summer, they get lots of thunderstorms, and so flights don't often arrive on time. If you get stuck there, the Dutch are not particularly warm or helpful, so expect a calloused response to any requests for help, particularly from KLM and the border agents at passport control who seem suspicious about why you are in Amsterdam in the first place.

    In spite of the convenient location, and decent ammenities, there were issues with early gaining access to our room, no hot water on the bathroom sink, on both our visits, logging onto the wi-fi network, and confusion among assigned accommodation.

    I had a long overnight layover in Amsterdam, arriving after midnight, so I chose the Mercure for its convenient location in the terminal. It was a very easy check in experience and a very comfortable room, perfect for my needs.

    Probably one of the best airport in my opinion.

    Probably one of the best airport in my opinion. Not big nor too small just the right size. Schipol Airport connects you to get to Amstredam Central by Train or Bus. Trains are extremely convenient and it's located inside the airport terminal. You don't have to leave the airport for anything. Lots and lots of good restaurant at budget price. I love coffee and generally the airport pricing are exhorbitant, in Schipol Airport the price was exactly the same as else where. Stay close to the airport

    originally stay was planned as a start to a road trip to Zeeland So hotel was booked for its closeness to the airport and car hire As our plans changed we used the hotel for a short city break The hotel and its location were excellent and as advertised Staff were all fabulous, very courteous and helpful Food and service in Stripes was excellent Access to the train station was superp, truly integrated Short visit to Amsterdam was equally good KInd regards

    Convenient location next to Schiphol Airport and close to the train station for trips into Amsterdam. Great layout, with excellent facilities. Room is well insulated and very quiet.     This is a great hotel if you have an early flight from the Schiphol airport and you'd like to sleep closeby. The hotel is easily accessible by the shuttle from the airport, and the same shuttle also takes you back tot he airport.
