We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The building was historic and beautiful, the rooms were comfortable and well-designed. We loved the exploring the picturesque town of Abcoude and it was a quick 20 minute ride into Amsterdam. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We loved having a quick coffee and breakfast each morning before exploring (best coffee we had all trip!). Highly recommend staying here! Can't wait to return.

The location was great. It was easy to get to the centre of Amsterdam by train and trains ran until around 1 a.m. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. We didn’t eat at the hotel restaurant but will definitely do so next time we stay.

It was extraordinary! This is probably one of the best locations I have chosen on Booking in recent years. Don't worry about it being a windmill. There were 5 of us and we were very comfortably accommodated. Everything you need is here. And I have never slept so well anywhere as here) You will not feel the atmosphere like here anywhere. Amsterdam is wonderful, but when I think of my visit to Holland, the first pleasant memories that come to mind are Mondriaanmolen in Abkaude. By the way, we got to the congress center in Amsterdam faster than our colleagues who settled in Amsterdam itself. Everything was great.

The farm is about 20 minutes' easy walk from Abcoude train station and bus stop and a similar walk to the centre of Abcoude, which has lovely restaurants and walks and several supermarkets to pick up things for self catering. The accommodation rooms at the farm are well set up and comfortable and clean. The bed in the loft was very comfortable. There's a very pleasant outlook from the area just outside the rooms which we took advantage of to have evening drinks several times. We were able to do a load of washing in the laundry to clean our travelling clothes. Esther helped us when flying insects started to be an issue, showing us now to use the insect screens. We regularly took the train into Amsterdam and connected with buses, trams and other means of transport as necessary to visit other towns we were interested in. The countryside is very pretty. I found out later it was an inspiration for Piet Mondrian when he was studying art!

    Abcoude is a picture postcard town about 30 minutes south of Amsterdam with good public transport options as well as plenty of cycling paths. There are lovely restaurants to suit many tastes and a regular farmers market. There's a good bakery and at least two good supermarkets for self caterers. The canals through the town on the Gein River are beautiful. I found out after our visit that this pretty place was an inspiration to the painter Piet Mondrian when he was studying art and I can see why. We mainly walked through the area and felt safe at all times.

    Lovely village with nice restaurants and shops.

    Lovely village with nice restaurants and shops. Easy access to a multitude of cycle paths into the beautiful dutch countryside with windmills, forts and gorgeous houses and boathouses to see on the way. Easily reached by train from Schiphol.

    Small village with everything you need in it , couple of supermarkets, restaurants, butcher , tobacco shop, chemist, bakery etcOllie’s coffee do fantastic toasties and Koekienbier restaurant/pub has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere. The village public transport service is very good with buses and a train station that runs trains into Amsterdam every 15-20 minutes or so. The people are very nice and friendly and everyone seems to be speaking English very well so no communication issues for us at all. From what we could see it is a farming village and we did notice there is a lingering smell of what we think it’s manure especially on the outskirts of the village, we visited in February at 3 degree, I assume in the summer might be even stronger.

    Lots of small local shops for food, drink, etc. Pastries nearby delightful, coffee shops short walk away, Thursday market across the road for fruit, veg, cheese, meat, etc. Host showed where to safely park our car for the duration, very safe.

    The flat is beautiful, well equipped and nicely decorated. The quiet country setting is a welcome rest from the chaos of Amsterdam. There is plenty of free parking and the WiFi worked without issues. Getting something to eat is only a 6-8 minute drive to Weesp. If you plan to go to Amsterdam drive the 5 minutes to the Park and Ride lot and board the subway for the 25 minute ride to downtown.

    Really nice boutique hotel, quiet but perfect base to discover Amsterdam, Utrecht etc. 8mins walk to the train station. Newly refurbished, beautiful interior and rooms. Very friendly staff.
