The hotel is right on the historic Centre and they had three amazing offers included in the booking of our room: breakfast (prepared on the spot), sandwiches and drinks 24/7 and a free walking tour to the city Centre which is the best way to get an excellent overview of the city and its history. The location is good, there are lots of shops nearby. It's a bit of a drive to get into the central area but the upside is it's close to the airport and the neighborhood has plenty of shops. The gym was great, one of the larger gym spaces I've seen and all the equipment including free weights are high quality. They have a cable machine, cardio, a rower. And I found the gym was empty during the day and usually only a couple of other guests in the morning or evening. You could spend hours in the gym without seeing anyone else! It's a great way to get in shape. The quality of the bedding was excellent. High quality mattress, nice sheets, and the some of the best pillows I've seen. Very large and firm pillows. It made for a great sleep. I found all the staff friendly and professional. The cleaning staff was easy to deal with, because I was often in the room working during the day they would schedule when to do the cleaning and always made sure it was done while I was out.

FAQs about hotels in Mexico City

Aztec Capital and Vibrant Metropolis

As one of the biggest cities in the world, Mexico City could be better described as an experience than a city. Founded in 1325 by the Aztecs as Tenochtitlan, it was both destroyed and rebuilt by the Spanish in the 16th century. Nowadays, it is the capital of the United Mexican States and its most important economic and cultural center.

The city center’s cornerstone is the famous Plaza de la Constitución, commonly called Zócalo. It's surrounded by the presidential Palacio Nacional and the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral.

The Avenida de la Reforma was built under the brief rule of Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Austria, while the deposed president Porfirio Díaz left a characteristic fusion of French-Mexican architecture. The 1960s saw a demographic explosion that only now is starting to be completely absorbed.

From the Chapultepec Parks and the chic Polanco, to the gay area of Zona Rosa and the Bohemian and intellectual Coyoacán: let Mexico City tell you its thousand secrets and stories.

Most of the hotels are located around the Reforma area, the Insurgentes Avenue and the Zócalo. If you’re looking for 5-star hotels in Mexico City, the modern Santa Fe area has a recently redeveloped business sector.

This is a world class city with everything a visitor could want and more -- architecture, museums, parks, food, entertainment. It is easy to get around CDMX but you have to do a bit of research on how the transit works. I found it a very walkable place, with parks, fountains and statues everywhere. I also found it much much much safer than other big cities such as Toronto or New York.

    Plan ahead.

Plan ahead. Find what you like, what you want to see and visit. Make a list, use AI to prepare it for you. Public transportation is cheap, one metro/bus ticket costs around $0.40 and you can switch inside metro without paying additional fare. There are modern architectural marvels in the Mexico city, like the Vasconcelos library worth visiting or Museo Anahuacalli. Also, Avenida Amsterdam in La Condesa neighbourhood. In the city center - Postal building is interesting, but Mexico city bank building next to it only if you are interested in the Mexican money - otherwise, don't go, you'll loose nearly 2 hours. Both buildings are next to Palacio de Bellas Artes. La Merced market near Zocalo (Plaza de la Constitution) is huge, and go only if you haven't been to other mexican markets or if you wish to eat at one of the many, many stalls there (I recommend TACOS MC TEO stall) Be aware there are rules to deal with car polution, and if you are coming with your car (or rental car) you have to apply online for a tourist pass, because whole Mexico city is unde Hoy no circulation zone rules.

It is one of the most exciting cities in the world . A lot to see in terms of art ,history (especially anthropology) and of course culinary experiences. Getting around Mexico can be daunting but we used Uber and that was secure and clean. We did, however , had a bad experience the last day when the driver didn't show up and we missed our bus back home.

The location of Zamora was perfect for our one week stay in Mexico City. CDMX is massive but the hotel is tucked away in Condesa, walking distance to the Museum of Anthropology and surrounding galleries and museums. Fantastic breakfast and coffee spots right on your doorstep, a good homebase for a stay in Mexico City. The room has a comfy bed and a great shower!, the hosts were really attentive to any questions we had. The building has a 24 hour security dude, the area is super safe for tourists.

Nice hotel close to the airport, we were just travelling through Mexico City so did not spend alot of time there. The room was clean and very comfortable, they provided tea, coffee and cookies at a station on each floor, which I thought was a lovely touch. We caught the shuttle both ways, they have a small booth in Terminal 1 where you can wait, which was very handy.
