A very nice hotel near the Lithuanian–Polish border, making it a convenient stop when travelling. The rooms are exceptionally clean and spacious, with stunning river views. Nearby, there’s a park and recreation island — ideal for a walk or a leg-stretch. The restaurant served a good dinner and an excellent buffet breakfast. Staff were professional and friendly throughout. We stayed here about 10 years ago, and it fully lived up to our expectations and memories. A great place for a relaxing break during a journey — or even for a longer weekend retreat.

It is a rather small apartment, but it is quite enough for two people. If necessary, a third person can sleep there on the sofa. Air conditioning is essential in the hot summer. Everything you need is available in the small kitchen: microwave oven, small oven with stove, refrigerator, dishes. Sorry, we broke one of your wine glasses. :(. Very good wifi. The ratio of quality and price is normal. Before arrival, shortly after 15.00) we were sent the door codes (those of the apartment and the house). Parking is possible at the house, because it is a quiet and relatively traffic-free place.

I went looking for the birthplace of my grandparents.

I went looking for the birthplace of my grandparents. So I was on a mission. I did not find many tourists there. It is a small town. I did go to the cemetery. I would have liked to know if there was a list of graves somewhere that I could have searched through before arriving. I do not speak Lithuanian and I found many people did not speak English. But everyone was very helpful despite the language barrier. My fault not theirs that I couldn't understand or read the signs. The bus service was convenient to get to and from the city. I didn't know what services were available within the city. I walked wherever I needed to go. We ate in a nice restaurant that seemed fairly new, Kavine Imperata. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious.
