You have to leave your car on a parking spot from where you're transfered few kms by a jeep. We haven't had any issues with the natural noise of waterfall and felt asleep as soon as our heads touched pillows. The house is simple yet comfortable. The hot water might have been a bit hotter though. Breakfast and dinner were fine. People working there are nice and friendly.

Spectacular scenary, beautiful houses, friendly family taking care of it all, perfect guidance to the Rainforest, delicious food. Saman told us not only the name of the very many animals we saw but also explained us interesting things about them. He knows so much!!! He provided us with special "socks" and salt to protect us from leeches and when back in the hotel, he washed our boots himself before we realised it. So wonderful caring people! My man had problem in his back and he tool extra time so that he could do the tour without risks and didn't charge any more for the extra time. His wife Umesha cooked many different currys every evening to eat with rice. And breakfast was also delicious and different every day so that we could taste local specialities. We can absolutely recommend it!! Right now I am sitting in the terrace while watching a varan, peacoks, a fisher king and hearing the the sounds of nature. Heaven.

Where to start? Hemal is such a such a kind guy and the best host you can imagine. It’s a new hotel so I was happy to be the first client. The hotel is at the entrance of the park and besides the great and spacious rooms as well as great food made by his wife, Hemal is an awesome forst guide that spots animals from a distance away! I did both the night tour seeing loris, scorpions, deer and snakes etc. (be silent while he’s spotting) as well as day tour with a.o. endangered monkeys and a beautiful waterfall. Also, from the terraces you can spot a lot of peacocks and other birds in the front of the stay. He also helped me arrange a taxi a good price back. 200% worth the visit!

During our three unforgettable weeks in Sri Lanka, this was undoubtedly THE best place we stayed. Everything about it was flawless, but what made it truly stand out was the magical setting. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the villa offers an unparalleled connection to nature – you genuinely feel like you’re immersed in the rainforest, which isn’t surprising given that the stunning Sinharaja Forest Reserve is just moments away. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Whether you’re lounging by the serene pool or relaxing on your private balcony, the vistas are like nothing I’ve experienced before – vibrant, tranquil, and endlessly captivating. The villa itself is equally impressive, with a warm wooden chalet vibe. It was spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities you’d need, including a fridge, plenty of sockets, and cosy furnishings. It felt like a luxurious home away from home. The attention to detail here was exceptional. Having stayed in several five-star hotels, I can confidently say this villa meets, if not exceeds, that standard. The staff deserve special mention – they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. They arranged everything for us, from TukTuks to local tours, and even went above and beyond to make my 30th birthday celebration extra special, complete with personalised touches. The pool was another highlight – beautifully maintained, it was the ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring. And the food? Simply sublime. Dining in their charming greenhouse-style restaurant, surrounded by the garden’s lush greenery, was an experience in itself. Each meal was a delight, made even better by the panoramic views. In short, everything about this place was exceptional. If you’re looking for a blend of luxury, nature, and outstanding hospitality, this is it. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

The perfect stay for your nature adventures in Sri Lanka. We read a lot about the troubles of finding a good and engaged guide, this is how Rainforest Star was suggested to us. We stayed in Ravindra’s cabin for 5 nights. We had an amazing time. The cabin is clean and cute, very comfortable bed, hot shower. It’s in a super authentic Sri Lankan village, surrounded by tea plants, just next to a river with a natural swimming pool. Most of the time you have the river all to yourself, sometimes you get to meet the locals which is a nice experience. The food Ravindra serves is amazing!! You get to taste some delicious and authentic rice and curry. It was a chance to discover some vegetables and fruit that we never tried. It’s definitely worth to book a wildlife tour of the Sinharaja Rainforest, we saw snakes, lizards, spiders, scorpions and monkeys. The tea factory is also worth a visit. Night walk in the jungle with Ravindra was also fun! All in all, an amazing experience. Sri Lanka is a beautiful island, make the effort to get off the beaten track and you will be rewarded. And Ravindra is a super friendly host, meeting him was just lovely.

The location is magical, immersed in the jungle and tea plantations. The rooms are new, clean and così and the food amazing. Rukshan is exteremely helpful and we had an amazing stay!

the property are just two cabins situated at the top of a tea plantation with valley views all around and a waterfall in one of the valleys. the cabins were super clean and well maintained, the communication with the hosts was effortless through WhatsApp. the food was excellent! sunsets are fantastic, too!
