Beautiful colonial house, quaint, clean, comfortable and recently refurbished ! Very close to the beach and only a 10 minute walk to the village centre ! The ownner , pleasant and helpful , is excellent at organizing tours as well as driving you there. A good and tasty breakfast is served at Blue Maalu Resort , a short distance away ( 5 minute walk ), with an fantastic sea view overlooking a small clean beach !

YOU MUST STAY HERE...The family that own this homestay couldn't have been more welcoming from the start to the end of our stay. Upon arrival we were handed a cold refreshing drink while the rottweiler introduced himself. Ive been travelling 6 weeks in Asia now and quite frankly this gentle giant made me feel at home very quickly. The daughter helping with my travelling plug issue and connecting me to WiFi, she was simply keen to please in any way. The family's English was amazing and probably the best ive experienced in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was delicious with a huge bowl of fruit followed by eggs,tomatoes and some thick tiger bread with butter and jam. Jug of coffee much welcomed. If I needed something I felt like it was never too much trouble. Location is so close to the beach but feels like the jungle from my room balcony. Within 5min walking distance you have a pub with roof top ideal for watching sunsets called Beauty Coral Bar. A restaurant within the homestay so you dont even need to leave to get food. Another restaurant 5mins up the road called Simple Restaurant if you fancy a change. Clean spacious rooms with good air con,ceiling fan and I love the shower and toilet also very clean and spacious. The whole place from the restaurant to my room,the family and Location I LOVED IT SO much I had to stay another night. So from England Kent to Sunnys Homestay I send you my thanks and my love for everything you did for me.

The homestay was directly on the beach. Our room was very spacious, clean and we could see the ocean from our room. The breakfast was delicious with typical Sri Lankan specialties. We wanted to stay one night but prolonged it to a second night, we would even stayed longer but we had to get going.

Excellent facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Well located, close to the main street of Ambalangoda. Delicious breakfast too. Our children loved playing in the pool, and we all felt very welcomed. Excellent value - highly recommended! :-)

    A little town which is friendly colourful with plenty of shops for anything you need …only issue is that like every town in Sri Lanka there is a problem with waste ( plastic bottles) There are several resteraunts and lots of lovely cake shops :-) Everything is very cheap ..food , tuk tuk , train ..and clothes are an outstanding bargain to any visitor Overall a lovely place for great holiday

    Everything we needed was found in this small but busy town, just north of Galle it's easily reached from Columbo or the airport using the highway. Mask carving is a big deal in Ambalangoda, there are quite a few shops and museums and having a tour in a museum was ideal to find out what the different types of mask are about.

    Compared to Hikkaduwa, Ambalangoda is smaller, has fewer tourists, felt more authentic. Easy to move around in a TukTuk. We mostly dined at Villa La Kurmba, great food! Also, make sure not miss Wallama Villa & Beach Restaurant - a true and hidden gem, ideal for a peaceful evening with unforgettable food.

    Amblalangoda is a great place to visit and location not to be missed while in Sri Lanka. This is where I grew up and will visit each and every time I come back. Located near the ocean, filled with culture & friendly people Great variety of food to enjoy Easy access from Colombo via freeway

    An amazing place for complete relaxation. The place fully corresponds to the description. This is a place for unity with nature, without the hustle and bustle and crowds. If you want to reboot, then this is the place for you. Special thanks to the hosts, they are a wonderful family who will always help and feed you with a delicious breakfast. The hosts always keep the area and rooms tidy. The beaches nearby are all amazing and almost secluded. I highly recommend this place!

    Superb! It’s a newly built two-room apartment facing a beautiful pool, with your own peaceful corner of land next to a colonial villa where the owner’s family lives. The two highlights were the cleanliness of the pool and property, along with the great vibe of the place. Roshan is a lovely gentleman, and the check-in was seamless, even though we arrived late. The beach is within walking distance, where you can enjoy stunning views of rocky islands from the shore.

    The villa is beautiful with huge green area around, rooms are very modern and clean with a great lake view, all rooms have AC and there is a refrigerator in room on the 3rd floor. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking, also there is a washing machine you can use. The location is good, not far from the beach and big Keels shop. The stuff is very helpful and friendly, clean the room upon request and meet people with welcome drinks.

    I recently stayed at Ocean Front Villa in Ambalangoda with my partner during our Sri Lankan tour, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. The breakfast was exceptional. Ocean Front Villa truly exceeded our expectations in every way, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene getaway. We can’t wait to visit again!

    Huge room with balcony, beach view, beautiful garden. The pool was also great. The bed was comfortable. The staff is very nice and supportive, they speak English. The mask museum just 10 mins walk.
