Bishkek was interesting, I was there during the end of winter and saw quite a change in two weeks between my arrival and departure. In those two weeks, much of the snow and ice melted and the parks were starting to come to life and people were out jogging. The city had surprisingly good coffee shops, loads of restaurants and a few bars where English was spoken well. There was a great museum which described the - very interesting - history of Kyrgyzstan and easy access around the city walking or by taxi. Bishkek is too dear to me to do it justice with a review. It is a small city but many lovely places to visit. The people are very nice and always smiling. Everyone is always helpful to me considering my very limited Russian. I love Bishkek for the handicraft community. There are so many people doing impressing handmade products, especially jewelry. The city is the best during Spring. Make sure to visit during April/May when the weather is the best. Also make sure to visit Avenue and try Seabuckthorn tea, it is a must. You need to try the sweets as well. I feel like I never had a bad sweet in any place I visited. Bishkek really knows how to make good sweets.Guest review byLolav Piro - 10.0

Friendly, delightful people. Bishkek is a very pleasant destination to walk in and experience the beautiful parks and monuments downtown. It was short trip. Hotel Reception Staff is very good. Unfortunately, no place to change money from dollar, euro to Kyrgyzstan soms around at night time. No Internet therefore couldn’t be able to pay for Yandex taxi driver through system. Appreciate Gentleman, at Reception, apologies I didn’t remember his name, paid for our taxi 250 soms. In order to return this gentleman’s money we walked to the Hyatt hotel opposite to Smart Hotel and draw cash money at ATM, returned. Taxi drivers both of them bang on time and waiting for me, the cost literally door to door was $100, totally hassle free. Beka spoke excellent English which is rare in Central Asia, all in all a pleasurable experience. The entire hotel infrastructure and details seem delicately accomplished between national Kyrgyz traditions and modern architecture with multicultural needs. Location is good across the big shopping mall in the city centre. The room is good for short staying in Bishkek, but you have to be careful for not making too much noise while being in the room, as the wall is thin.
