The hotel is amazing. The rooms are massive by Japanese standards, it’s 2 minutes from the beach but still quiet and the facilities including private class are much higher quality than the cost of the stay would make you think. We had the tasting menu two nights in a row from the hotel restaurant and it was unbelievably reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The second night the chef asked if we’d like anything different and also made a bespoke cake for my birthday with a birthday message written in chocolate sauce. Wee details like this are amazing! Staff are incredibly friendly. It’s a small, high class boutique hotel with an incredibly small fee for what you get. Go here.

Amazing service at Kamakura Seizan! This is the only hotel during my stay in Japan that helped microwave your food and sends it directly to your room! Besides that, the room is very clean and all admenities are provided.

3 minutes walk from the Kamakura station. Also a couple of minutes to the Kocho street. Great location to either go to the beach or into the mountains. The hotel is very nice and clean. All the facilities and supplies are really considerable. I especially like the big bathroom. Used it every day. Excellent experience!

Great location. Brand new residence. Bedding on raised platform. Comfortable futons with extra padded foam on bottom. Great shower. WiFi was boosted for us. Great friendly staff. Very accommodating. Lots of great restaurants nearby but make sure to go early! Last order at 8pm. Risky to go so late.

It’s a small city, yet popular with tourists thanks to its blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. While some spots can get quite crowded, those who enjoy hiking can escape the crowds by booking a local guide and exploring the mountain trails. These paths lead to hidden shrines and temples, offering not only a peaceful atmosphere but also stunning views.

One week was the perfect way to enjoy the town and explore temples and shrines...and cute cafes! We recommend taking a walking tour to get a feel for the town and learn temple etiquette, etc.. In addition, we tried a few experiences - kintsugi golden joinery, woodcarving, and indigo dyeing. It was wonderful to meet the artisans and work with them (even though we are not terribly artistic!). Kamakura never fails when it comes to food - especially Japanese and Italian restaurants, and gelato!

The Hase-dera Shrine and the Great Buddha are awe-inspiring and accessing them by local train is easy. By far the most beautiful shrine we have seen in our travels. Some fabulous restaurants and a great breakfast spot near the beach. Enoshima Island is also worth a visit.

I liked it all! Delightful from start to finish. I wanted a calm, manageable place to handle my jet lag and enjoy. I was not open or ready for Tokyo just yet. Kamakura filled the bill perfectly. My favorite part was Enoshima early in the morning before crowds decended. AND GOING to an absolutely, delightful old world Japanese sento bath in the neighborhood. It was strongly recommended by my host Jiro.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, I would come to Kamakura again and again. There is so much to see here and so many beautiful shrines. It has a much more relaxing pace away from the city and a really charming vibe. A perfect getaway.

The hotel was intimate and our room was spacious and resembled a very modern Ryokan. The breakfast was traditional and delicious. It included rice pockets with a choice of fillings prepared by their chef, which sat on a bed of dried seaweed, and was served with a side of pickles and miso. The meal was flavoursome and fresh. The location was very convenient for us, noting the train and tram station a stone throw away. The area was buzzing with people, and then nice and quiet at night.

Perfect! Staff were lovely, rooms were bigger than usual for Japan, very clean and the hotel itself is beautiful, wish I stayed for longer! Location couldn’t have been better, so close to the station, family mart, 5 minutes away from tsurugaoka hachimangu shrine and a 20 minute walk from the beautiful beach, this was the best hotel I have stayed in during my time in Japan. I will 100% be returning, Kamakura is a must visit place and you should definitely stay in this hotel.

Above expectations. Good value for money. A great alternative to staying in more expensive Kamamura. Just a quick train ride to giant buddha. Excellent location by station. A few minutes to restaurants and supermarkets. Room very clean. Super comfy bed and pillows compared to other Japanese hotels. No smoking smell in hotel.
