Excellent hotel, immaculately clean, friendly staff, great amenities and super close to the station. More of a business hotel I think buy we were fine as tourists. Coin laundry on site. Short walk to big supermarket, resturants and convenience stores. Great value for money. Easy walk to the zoo and park to see the red pandas.

For a group of 4 adults we had to book 4x single rooms which was awesome. The cost was minimal, the location fabulous with a fantastic supermarket virtually next door. Takefu was a breath of fresh air after bust Kyoto. Great overnight stop.

The house is absolutely wonderful, it seems to come out from anime!! Personally I had it all for myself, but it's so big it's great also for families! Yukie-San, the owner, was so welcoming and went above and beyond to help me in every possible way, from the amenities, to local gifts, to tips where to eat, what to try and experience. She even helped me with the links and maps positions of so many places and was always quick at answering! I promise you'll feel at home here and won't regret staying here even if it's just for a couple of nights!

He personally organized several tours for us, showcasing the best of Echizen's rich culture and history. His dedication and local knowledge made our trip extra special. Tabaki itself is a gem, steeped in history with beautiful, well-preserved architecture. Every room tells a story, and the traditional design combined with modern amenities provided a comfortable and unique stay. Breakfast was another highlight – delicious and thoughtfully prepared, offering a variety of local specialties that gave us a true taste of Echizen. Overall, our stay at Tabaki was exceptional. The host's hospitality, the amazing house, and the fantastic breakfast all contributed to an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Echizen!
