An exceptional family gathering took place at an extraordinary location. The natural surroundings were fantastic. Despite some rain, the weather was great in February. The staff were friendly and responded kindly to any requests. The restaurant served delicious food; we particularly enjoyed the traditional and tasty breakfast. The view was magnificent, with greenery and flowers all around, making it an excellent spot for family photos.

The first thing I liked about the hotel was the staff’s treatment of customers, especially the reception staff, their good manners, kindness and respect. The second thing I liked about the hotel was the tidy and strong security system. Special thanks to the security employee, Ziyad Al-Sardi

Great place, great history, but Haraam to the local authorities! There are SOOOOOOO many buildings with Byantine or Ottoman heritage that need to be restored and repaired. Have definietly not done enough. The people are sweet, hospitable, pretty much like anywhere in Jordan. However, sometimes there can be some light racisim among young people, in the sense of people seeing an Asian and calling out "Jackie Chan" or "China". When I told these local buys in Arabic that not all Asians are Chinese OR Jackie Chan, and I accused them of racial stereotypes almost getting to the level of Israeli or Western standards, we threatened to take a photo of them and report them to the Mukhabaraat or Tourism Police. It is sad to say that this is not the first time and it is rather odd how ignorant of good behaviour these young people are. As some one who is half Middle-Eastener it is a sad state of affairs how backward some parts of society can be (and let's be honest, if anything, MIddle Easteners could learn from China! There is no reason to yell out at strangers of Asian extraction like that).

We arrived on Thursday and went to the Visitors centre which was staffed by a lovely volunteer. She gave us directions to the hotel and advice on where to go so we explored Al Salt that afternoon after checking in. It is a beautiful place with incredible architecture. The next day we was Friday but unfortunately most public buildings were closed so it would have been preferable not to stay an extra night. I think one day is enough. Can recommend Beit Aziz restaurant with amazing food and views from the verandah. The As Salt museum has a beautiful cafe and is a very interesting museum too. Wandering the main markets, check out the Khadoor christian orthodox church, and meeting the locals are all good. You can even learn the 2000 year old game of Mancala near the visitors centre.

    The location is fabulous.

The location is fabulous. Lovely break for couples and families alike. The lodge we stayed in was great, spacious, clean and quite. Bed super comfy. Staff are friendly and the food was great. Can get busy at weekends, I would probably choose a weekday break next time.
