Everything in Treviso is within walking distance. The shops are plentiful. There’s lots of gorgeous little bars and restaurants and cafés. I could spend the whole year here just going into each & every one! There just was not enough time. The only thing I would say is that the Italian waiters could do with some coaching when it comes to being friendly to foreigners. We did notice that they pour smaller drinks for foreigners than they do for locals but if you keep drinking in their restaurant. They then give you more than your first glass! We visited Treviso from August 6 to August 13.
We visited Treviso from August 6 to August 13. During this time the city was quiet, peaceful, and not crowded. It is clean and charming, which is actually a rarity in Europe. The only downside is that the shops close too early – it was impossible to go shopping during the day because of the heat, and in the evening, when it became cooler, everything was already closed. A very nice place to visit and walk along the river sides. It's marvelous and very relaxing. Lovely flowery scent in the air coming from the flowers. Nice people and prudent drivers. Many use their bikes to do their errands too. Treviso is a beautiful town to visit. The town centre is quite small and easy to walk around. It feels very safe and everyone was friendly. Prices were very reasonable, especially when you hear about the rip-off prices in nearby Venice. We went for the rugby game between Benetton Treviso and Glasgow Warriors. It took about 30mins to walk to Porta San Tomaso, the most picturesque gate into the old city. Treviso has canals, castles, old churches and civic buildings and some good restaurants.
