Definitely a memorable experience and would even dare to say, a mandatory stop on your Icelandic roadtrip. Not only was the breakfast the best food we had in Iceland with a great variety of fresh dishes, the location of the hotel is unique (our room had a view to the lush green mountains that are incredibly scenic), the staff was extremely kind and attentive (with a special shout out to the Portuguese gentleman) and facilities makes you stay for a longer period of time (i.e., Spa, thermal baths, ice showers and relaxation rooms overlooking the glaciers and giving an great sense of calmness and relaxation). The place seems a little lost and left to itself at first glance. Despite this, the state of the premises whether the room, the kitchen or the bathroom was impeccable. We cannot remove from this Guesthouse the fact that it is ideally located in relation to any light source at night because it gave us our first opportunity to see the northern lights along the road below. Spacious comfortable room. Good hotel. Relatively close for glacier excursions near diamond beach. Easily accessible. Enough parking. Helpful and friendly staff. It’s a big complex with a lot of rooms, but we liked the (family friendly) vibe around the complex and in the halls to the rooms.
