This small, picturesque settlement is the perfect place to spend a day relaxing in the famous seaside hot tubs. It's really one-of-a-kind and is not too heavily trafficked by tourists. You're likely to make friends with like-minded wanderers and adventurers as you soak away your cares. It had almost everything we needed - it's spacious, very cosy, there's a kind of anteroom where you can hang the jackets, shoes or leave some food which needs lower temperature. Hosts are friendly, the location is quiet but sometimes rainy and very windy. Usually it was possible to park the car just in front of our room. We took the boat tour to Grímsey and it was magical, we saw so many puffins as well as nesting cormorants and kittiwakes. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff were genuinely kind and helpful throughout. The breakfast was very good – fresh and with a nice variety.
