I travel a lot, both for leisure and for work. I can say that this may be the best of its kind I have seen so far. The place is equipped at an excellent level. The location is the best if you are looking for privacy, diving into nature, and detoxing from stress. The Hosts are fantastic. They are always there to help but very discreet. Cleanliness was at the top level. The jacuzzi pool is really great.

the staff are the best I’ve ever come across and I travel a lot for work. They could not be more helpful. Because our flights were delayed and we arrived at 2am, they arranged for some sandwiches to be available to us without our asking. It was a lovely gesture. The food was amazing. We had the full board option, and the food was better quality than most local restaurants. With meat and fish options everyday, with sushi on Wednesdays. Part of the full board is alcohol. while booking.com and the hotel website states: 2 wine, 2 cocktails, and 4 beers per person per day, this is actually just a suggestion. The drinks are point based and so you could have 12 beers, or 10 cocktails per person per day. We had a room facing the pool and sea, which had a spa bath (not the massive jacuzzi option) and It was excellent.

I was upgraded from a standard room to a room with balcony. The view was amazing. Also great view from the top floor dining area where they serve delicious traditional breakfast. George the host was extremely helpful and friendly. 12/10

Beautiful hotel with an elegant design done by someone with taste and attention to details and that presents a unique experience of feeling at someone's home although with the amenities of a modern boutique hotel. Staff is extremely attentive and friendly, breakfast is à la carte with generous portions and a good variety to choose from. Location is great within Rethymno (within the historical center) but also within Crete as the city serves as a central point to access some of the main touristic places, especially if you are by car. Just make sure you clarify in advance the parking and hotel location with the staff first, given that they can be challenging to find at first. Overall, an experience that I would definitely repeat.

Dear team of The Amalen Suites. I would like to say thank you for our stay. I work in the hospitality and luxury industry and I was really surprised to find this kind of hospitality and this quality of service in your place. I appreciate all the detals founded in your room, it’s very personnalized. (Until the embroidery on the sheets, and towels) and thanks for the equipments and the good bedding!! The breakfast was very nice, generous and typical with homemade recipe! The place is gorgeous, with a very good location. Don’t hesitate ! Carla

It was clean, modern, spacious ( to fit our large suitcases) and had all the things we needed- kettle, iron, coffee machine, air conditioning, etc. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

The hotel was very clean and modern. The rooms was very confortable, we took the one with the jacuzzi in the balcony, with a very nice view of the port and the sunset. The staff was very friendly as well and helpful.
