The breakfast was fresh and had a nice variety of options. The hotel was spotlessly clean with very attentive, friendly staff. The location was suitable for our needs, which were settling our son at university accommodations close by.

Great city. Small and easy to get around the centre. Locals seem friendly and it has great shops, museums, live music entertainment in the pubs, theatre, lovely places to eat and great value for money. The airport is close by and small so very easy to use. Public transport was also easy and reasonably priced. Heaps of activities going on for all tastes.

Within easy walking distance of everything Liverpool has to offer (and it has a lot). Liverpool is one of the friendliest cities in the UK without a doubt. Johnny English chippy is quite close and very good value. Wetherspoons pubs are plentiful as are several Irish bars, a couple within very easy walking distance.

Central Liverpool is brimming with character and culture—...

Central Liverpool is brimming with character and culture—from its architectural landmarks like Royal Albert Dock, St. George’s Hall, and the Royal Liver Building, to its compact layout that makes everything within easy walking distance. The city pulses with energy: plenty of museums, galleries, theaters, music venues, and nightlife options that cater to all tastes. Especially fans of The Beatles and vibrant nightlife. Areas like the Baltic Triangle and Bold Street offer creative, bohemian atmospheres with street art, indie bars, eclectic shops, and food spots that feel alive and authentic. Because the city centre is so lively and compact, it can feel overwhelmingly busy at times. Weekends and event nights bring significant crowds, which might wear on quieter travellers. Accommodation can get pricey or booked out quickly, especially during Premier League matches or concerts at the M&S Bank Arena, so planning ahead is key. Additionally, while recent regeneration has been impressive, some public spaces and older buildings would benefit from ongoing maintenance to restore their full former glory.

Apart from The Beatles who still dominate the Liverpool experience nowadays, there is plenty of interest in this unique city. The way the waterfront has been changed from dereliction to a vibrant modern urban centre; the remarkable architecture of the compact central area with two great cathedrals, art galleries and a range of historical quarters.

Great location to explore Liverpool's docks and city centre. A five minute walk to the Cavern Quarter, highly recommend a visit to the Cavern Club to experience The Beatles tribute band! We ate in the Marco Pierre White restaurant in the hotel and had a lovely meal- recommend the scotch egg and fish & chips.

It's the perfect location for The Empire Theatre, which is the reason we booked it. It's great for exploring the city centre, only a 20min walk to The Albert Docks. The staff were really friendly and helpful and while the hotel is dated, it has everything you need for a base when exploring Liverpool.

Location was prime for visiting docks and city centre, couldn't complain at the price for 2 nights and cracking views across the Mersey. Apartments are above the Malmaison hotel. There was a car park next to the apartments which was £22 per day.
