The bothy is comfortable, clean, spacious, peaceful and private. The bed was so comfortable and there were so many little personal touches. I stayed here to recover from surgery at the nearby hospital it was the perfect sanctuary a home from home. Alison and Nigel were ideal hosts informative, thoughtful and kind. It's just a 10min walk to the nearby village where there is an array of coffee shops and quaint grocery stores. My stay definately exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend a stay here. Thankyou Alison and Nigel for a wonderful stress free stay : )

Gravetye Manor is a magical place. The house built in the late 1500’s retains its charm and has all the modern comforts. Breakfast offers many choices of hot and cold foods. You sit by floor to ceiling windows looking out on the spectacular gardens. The bedroom (Pear) was large and had three windows overlooking the gardens. Staff are friendly, kind, competent. Dinner came with 4-5 little extra food treats between courses. A marvellous experience!

    The food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was...

    The food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was excellent. The carpet in the hallways needs replacing especially outside our room which was on the ground floor. Room was a good size and clean but they do need a bit of updating although please dont replace the beds as they are really comfy. We’ve stayed here numerous times and look forward to our next visit. Staff are very friendly so thank you.

    Service was very pleasant.

    Service was very pleasant. The room was very comfortable,,particularly the bed. A very comfortable sleeping. Good to have comfortable areas just to chill if needed. The staff worked clearly as a team. They always checked that all was OK.

    This hotel is an ideal place to stay for visiting Ashdown...

    This hotel is an ideal place to stay for visiting Ashdown Forest. Everything winning the pooh related was a short drive away. I would say you would definitely need a car for getting around this area. The service from staff is exemplary and very friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and a good size. We had breakfast and dinner here and the food was delicious.

    I loved this area, and the bus can get you to the town and there's plenty to eat and explore in town BUT to get to the beautiful ashdown forest or forests/farms around, I would recommend having a car.

    We booked for our anniversary and it was exactly as we had hoped. A little bit of luxury, solitude, and relaxation. The food was excellent (although a little slow in the restaurant). The room was very comfortable and spacious. The grounds are delightful for a walk (we did 4km, but there are shorter walks). The staff were all friendly and helpful and the relaxing back massage was amazing! We made a good decision to eat in the Brasserie on the second night as it was more relaxed.

    Beautiful location , quiet and peaceful, very good food in both restaurants, really enjoyable breakfast. I had a spa treatment sea spray detox with full body massage . Felt great after. The hotel and spa staff are friendly and helpful. First night, our radiator didn't work in the room, which was very cold, we reported it to the receptionist, and they immediately moved us to another room and upgraded us to a suite we will definitely be staying again .
