Nicky and Simon and their children are a lovely family. They let us share their home and feel at home. The house is rich in history and nestled in a picturesque valley set apart from the hustle and bustle of the usual tourist hotspots from West Bay to the Isle of White, Sherborne to Durdle Door, Corfe Castle and Swanage to Shaftesbury, which are still perfectly convenient to reach by car. We enjoyed the company of their cute dogs and cats and, of course, we also enjoyed our delicious full English Breakfast carefully prepared by Nicky to individual taste every day. Fruit, cereals, baked beans, sausages, tomatoes, bacon, eggs, honey, butter, jam. Thank you Nicky and Simon for the great time we had with you in your home. We hope to return to Higher Melcombe Manor one day.

Staying at the Coach House for one week was a wonderful experience. Chris welcomed us with a very generous welcome hamper. The newly renovated flat offers everything you need for a relaxing stay in Dorset's lovely countryside. Good beds, fully equipped kitchen, even Alexa was there. We will come back and tell our friends about this amazing cottage. Thank you for everything, Chris.

    Matthew, the proprietor, was extremely welcoming and attentive. His humorous and open style of hosting was perfectly suited to the nature of our visit; to joyfully but quietly celebrate a significant birthday for one of the family (all adults). The rooms were beautifully furnished and the beds were extremely comfortable. Fresh-smelling, simple, eco-friendly toiletries and big, fluffy towels. Good shower. Dinner was excellent; varied menu with really top-notch 'proper chef' cooking. Prawn starter was 'to die for'! Breakfast was also terrific. (Noticed that this was also cooked by the chef). Usual breakfast offer but extremely good local ingredients beautifully cooked. Good coffee. My husband and I had visited before several years ago. The wonderful old features and gorgeous setting of the (proper) pub were even better than we remembered!
