We had a lovely stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and we slept very well. The garden was peaceful and beautiful. Christina and Ron were incredibly kind and welcoming. They served us a delicious breakfast and took great care of us. Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfortable and friendly place to stay and perfect for kids too!

What a wonderful change to get off the monotonous highway and discover the enchanting landscape of Burgundy. After about 40 minutes, we arrived in La Neuvelle-lès-Scey, where we received a very warm welcome from our hosts. We immediately felt at home. A lovely place to stay that our son really enjoyed. We sat in the garden, enjoying the sound of the neighbors' voices and the birds chirping on the warm summer evening. It was as if time had stood still. Thank you for this experience!

This hotel was a nice surprise. When we arrived, we discovered that it was under reconstruction, but a room was ready for us and no noises disturbed us during the stay. In the room, we were happy to discover a brand-new shining shower and other newly installed equipment. A british-style 2-tub sink was a bit of surprise, but it did not bother us. The room was fine and big enough, the bed was comfortable, and all was nice. All was very clean. The stuff was super-friendly, especially the hotel owner was nice to us. And the breakfast!! It was superb! I’d stay there again for the breakfast alone. All in all, it’s an extremely nice place with excellent breakfast, very well suited for and warm-welcoming cycling or hiking travellers. It’s a real gem on the road! Maybe the only thing that we'd recommend to add would be a door or at least a curtain separating the toilet from the room. Even though there is sort of a wall, it feels... unusual. Probably it's in the reconstruction plans...

Wonderful stay in a very peaceful rural location. The host was very welcoming. A great meal at chez Yvette just down the road. A great stopover through France and would definitely return if in the area again

Extemely warm welcome from the owners Thomas and Pauline and their son Otis and wow what a lovely place to stay. This is a glorious old building in the centre of Melay and we had a suite on the first floor which was enormous and very comfortable. Thomas and Pauline took this on several years ago and their style will make it a very sucessful hotel as, unlike larger hotels, this has a very personal touch. Thomas cooked us a lovely 3 course evening meal and had wines from the local vineyard to buy and take away which were excellent. It's extremely quiet and with the very comfortable bed we slept very well on the one night en route to Italy. I would highy recommend Chateau Melay especially if you prefer a more personal experience.
