We loved or stay here and wish it had been for longer. We were made welcome by our hosts. The room was large, very clean and the bed comfortable. Fanny's home made breakfast was really good and just what we needed to set us up for the day. Although Courcelles is a small community, the larger town nearby of Saint Jean D'Angly has a lot going on. We enjoyed looking around the market there, walking around the park and the old port and especially a lovely meal in town one evening. Its is relatively easy to drive into La Rochelle and Fanny advised us on a few points such as parking. It is beautiful there.

We had a truly wonderful experience at the tranquil Orangerie du General. The host and hostess were so considerately yet discreetly attentive and we were extremely comfortable. The garden is a hidden oasis, beautifully maintained, where one can relax in the shade or sun. The property is within walking distance of a choice of restaurants and a quiet white stone town, steeped in history. Thankyou for a perfect stay.

It was our second stay and we simply love it since it is just super when you travel with dogs. They have a walled in garden and this time our room was facing the garden, which was just ideal for us. We were able sitting on the terrace while the dogs had a great time running around the garden. The owner has a beautiful unique style of furnishing the rooms and the grounds. Bohemian meets antique style wrapped up with charm. Breakfast is in the main house and feels like quite an event. The owners- mother and daughter - are just lovely and make you feel very welcome.
