Location perfect as we needed an overnight stay on our way to the Alps. Easy to access from the main road. Served very good food so we were able to eat dinner without looking for anything else.

Perfect stay. We had everything we needed. The room and facilities are very proper and of good quality. The breakfast and supper were healthy and delicious. Isabelle and Michel are wonderful hosts: hospitable and freandly. Very quite nice place to stay in the French countryside. Very recommend!

We were two tired and hungry pilgrims on the Via Francigena who arrived without food due to another French public holiday in May and a lack of shops in the area. We also had difficulty finding accommodation and Bouconville-Vauclair is not on the designated route. The hostess, Magali, was simply outstanding. She offered to prepare us an evening meal – which was magnificent, and this was followed with a superb breakfast the next morning. The accommodation can more correctly described as a newly constructed self-contained unit with all amenities you require. Magali turned our brief stay into one of the highlights of our entire walk. Peaceful stay in very well converted historic ex relais de poste. Friendly hosts, knowledgeable and helpful. Fast, fibre based wifi. Very comfortable beds. Terrific French breakfast (inc home-made yogurt and pains au chocolat!). Private parking, but note only for small car (narrow/angled/steep entrance). Rural location, so quiet - downside is no shops, eating etc in walking distance. No TV - we never watch it anyway - might be a negative for some people?

    very small village with no local facilities, but restaurants available within a 15 to 20 minutes drive. Hosts know the region and places to go for eating. Sightseeing drives are part of the trip and very nice scenic routes when going to Reims / Epernay / Champagne region.
