It wasn't easy to find a good restaurant.
It wasn't easy to find a good restaurant. We were there on a Tuesday night and the one restaurant we could find was closed on Tuesdays. There may have been bars but they didn't seem inviting - dark with little to no signage; some just looked closed. We drove north out of town, where we found a beach-side bar that was obviously open for business - it was fine. Portsmouth is closer to the airport than Roseau. But, still a one hour drive from the airport for 80 U.S. dollars. There were no fancy restaurants near the Portsmouth Beach Hotel and only one bar that is a karaoke bar.Guest review bysocomteamster

Still close to everything you could need on the nicest area of Portsmouth. The vibe is really chilled. You can go swimming with the sperm whales with Andrew who moores his boat and runs the operation right at the front of the property. Totally worth going with him.
