You can meet many amazing people. They offer free tours and activities every day. The free chocolate chip pancakes in the morning were amazing and they also had free drink and game nights. Facilities are very clean and staff super friendly.

I loved the price! Accomodation on big island is really expensive 🙈 however, even it was cheap this room was spacious, clean, and all we needed to rest. It's located next to some bar, so we heard music coming out from the street, but once we closed the windows it wasn't an issue at all. The neighbourhood is not the safast one, however, on the property have had 3 locks on the way getting into the room that made us feel secure. .

The vibe you find at Open Gate Hostel is hard to explain and find somewhere else. Staying here was one of the best decisions I have made throughout my two weeks in Hawaii. Staff is truly super (helpful, friendly, welcoming, helpful) and the people you meet there are just amazing. My private room was large, comfortable, and clean. Bathrooms and kitchen were very clean, too. Location is incredible.
