There was literally nothing outstanding that we will probably remember in two weeks time about this place. We got exactly what we paid for – a hotel room with a bed, bath with shower, pool and gym, breakfast. Everything just as expected from a hotel stay, but nothing beyond.

I took my girlfriend to El Riande Hotel for her birthday week, and it was an incredible experience that exceeded our expectations. On our way from the airport it took a little over a hour due to rush hour traffic (so, travelers budget your time for that). On our way to the hotel a couple days later, the trip back was only about 25 mins (we checked out of the hotel and headed for the airport around 1040AM). The hotel features a lovely swimming pool and a relaxing jacuzzi (We didn’t use those amenities). They offer breakfast from 7 AM to 10 AM, and while the options are simple and somewhat limited, I appreciated this as it helped me avoid overeating.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Although we didn't dine at the hotel for dinner, we did take advantage of their tour services, and Kathy was particularly amazing. We will certainly be returning to El Riande Hotel.

The people were very welcoming and I felt safe walking around the city during the day. I hired a driver at a reasonable rate and had a great city tour, tour of the Old City, the Panama Canal and more. This worked out better than "tours" since I had hurt my back and was moving slowly. Also this made it easy to ask my questions as well as for him to give me "history" lessons as we traveled.
My very basic Spanish skills were enough to not feel totally lost but there were many shops where English was not spoken so learn a bit before you go.
Highlights of the trip were the Panama Canal, the Old City, and my trip around the island to an old Fort.

Panama City has positives-we found the Metro and bus system useful and very cheap, but with the price of Ubers you might find them more convenient. We had no issues with the Ubers we used. In terms of things to do these were our favourites:
1)the Canal-the IMAX presentation was informative and watching a ship transit was fascinating-check to make sure there is a ship going through when you want to visit-there can be hours between them
2)the Biomuseum-we thought it was great especially if you are travelling with younger kids
3)the Old City- we enjoyed it but it is a tourist place- we found it interesting that while the Old City is a ‘must see’ it is bordered by areas of the city which are very sketchy, especially at night.
4)the board walk by the sea is a nice place to spend time in the evening
And that was about it for us. We are not out at night so can’t speak to the nightlife. Other than that we found Panama City, loud, and difficult to navigate on foot. For us, 2 days would probably have done it.

I just stayed in Panama City for 2 overnight layovers. I was a single female traveler who always felt safe. Panama City is sophisticated and cosmopolitan. Everyone I interacted with courteous and friendly. I hope to return soon to see more of this beautiful country with a big heart.

This is a modern city with all amenities.
This is a modern city with all amenities. Views along the waterfront are spectacular. We found a great place for coffee and breakfast in the old city and really enjoyed the rooftop bars and restaurants. It's very easy and inexpensive to get around with Uber or taxi. We found the rates with Uber to be very reasonable. Loved the seafood market whch is a collection of smaller eateries, and Casa Casco rooftop which offers panoramic city views. Do venture outside the city to see what else this diverse and vibrant country has to offer!
Las Clemintinas is a great place to stay in Panama City. Located in the Casco Viejo, you can walk the old neighborhoods right out of the door. There is a great, vibey restaurant and courtyard as part of the hotel to hang out and grab a drink in. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Check-in with the staff was easy and they were knowledgeable of the area with recommendations. Overall, I would recommend staying here and would stay here again myself.
The location is excellent, very central and easy to navigate. Metro stop, large grocery store and several nice bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The breakfast bar is amazing (the coffee definitely exceeding my expecations!), the gym and pool are really nice, and I loved that this was an apartment (with a full kitchen, laundry and comfy couch to relax) during my 10 long days of work in Panama City. Felt like the perfect mix of home + hotel!
beautiful boutique hotel! great interior, breathtaking rooftop where you can have your breakfast and watch Panama City waking up. the breakfast was delicious, especially the Panamanian style dishes, and their cappuccino is one of the best. you must also try their restaurant kandela - every dish is recommendable! The staff is so attentive and professional, yet lovely - special shout-out to Jorge and Luis!
The location in Casco Antigo is excellent. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked well. Showers had nice water pressure although one evening there was no hot water. The staff were helpful in answering questions about practicalities of getting around in Panama City. We stayed at this hotel 3 times, using it as our base when we returned to Panama City from trips to the coast and Boquete.
We love this small hotel on the water with the balconies... great views especially from 3rd floor. Comfortable very clean rooms.. Great location near many restaurants , boats, peddle vehicles, easy access to hwy to central Panama , Casco Viejo and downtown Panama City.
We have spent an 85th Birthday and 30th anniversay with family groups.
We all enjoyed it very much.
Although not ordinarily larger hotel and/or hotel chain fans the Tryp by Wyndham suited us perfectly for our time in Panama City. Spacious king room, views over the city skyline, attentive room service (though we had to ask daily at Reception for bottled water to be replaced). Fabulous sleep in the big king bed. Transport, restaurants and bars within walking distance.
I loved the room, nice decoration and style, they have a nice pool area as well. David was very helpful and available at all times. Even when my foot hurt in the middle of the night and he was there immediately to help. He showed the guests the village + walked with them to the Arbol tree.
Bonfire every night on the beach + beautiful sunset view, quiet place.
Lovely hotel with very big rooms. We only stayed for 1 night as we were transiting to Cancun, Mexico. The room was very big and they kindly provided a very comfortable cot for my baby. The best part is the lookout glass view of the city, amazing! Breakfast was great too! If ever we come to Panamá city, I’ll book this hotel again!
The hotel has the prefect location to explore the old part of Panama city, called Casco viejo. The people from the reception are more than helpful. They go beyond the job to help you. Many thanks to all of them. I book the room with breakfast included which I would recommend. You can choose anything from the breakfast menue.
The hotel was just renovated and they did a great job! It reminded me of a Moroccan Riahd. The room was much larger than I expected for the price and the bed was really comfortable 🙂 The rooftop bar has one of the best, if not the best, view of Panama City and Casa Viejo. Drinks were good and reasonably priced.
The staff was incredibly helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. The location was quiet, safe, and walkable to a handful of relevant locations. The breakfast offerings were simple, yet tasty. The property overall was clean, unique, and unlike our typical hotel stays in Panama City.
The best the hotel offers is the breakfast included, quite varied and tasty. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. If you go to an event at the Panama Convention Center or Parlamento Latino is perfectly well located, not so for other places in Panama City
The location, the vibe, the history. Wonderful architecture, many museums and things to do. Accessible to many parts of Panama City. The staff at the hotel were great and friendly. Would stay there again.
Hotel Caracas was a great beautiful place to stay near the old town part of Panama City. The bed was comfortable and the walls were hand-painted with beautiful plants
We've stayed in many similarly priced Panama City hotels but The Executive is definitely the best. Room was clean and smelled fresh. Well equipped gym.
