I visited Tetouan at the time of Ramadan, which added a new dimension to the whole experience. The medina is of a fair size, possible to walk through it using the markings. The people were also friendly and willing to help if asked for directions.
The Archeological Museum has a nice collection of mosaics from the Roman time.
The bus terminal is a short walk from the medina, but I found that not all the buses listed were actually running. Out of 3 buses in direction Tangier (8:00, 8:15 and 8:30) there was only one bus on the morning of my departure (at 8:45 🙂 ! )

A prosperous town with lots of people living their lives out on the streets. The Medina is not as pretty as the Fes Medina but felt more relevant to the daily needs of Moroccans and much less crowded. Delicious and inexpensive pastries available everywhere!

Tetouan is one of (if not the most) beautiful city in Morocco. The people there were amongst the friendliest I have encountered in Morocco in the two trips that I have been there. Many foreigners go to stay at the nearby beach properties, and miss out on the jewel that is Tetouan.

It's a strange city.
It's a strange city. We stayed in it for four days and it seemed very long to me.
Very interesting old medina, but 2 days to see the city is enough.
I found there was almost no place to eat in the city - we had to go to Martil for a fish restaurant.

The place is very amazing and i wish i had more days to stay here. I got a chance to visit another city an hour away called Chefchouane (The Blue City) its another small city not far from Tetouan and i will definately recommend a visit there, its has amazing falls and friendly markets and. All in all Tetouan has alot to offer and if you ever get a chance to spend time in the city centre of Tetouan please i will advice to go to a small coffe shop called AMAZING COFFEE, they make coffee to die for and the staff and owner are just very friendly and great people. Generally i will sum up by saying i will be back here cos its a really good place.

Excellent value for money for food. people very friendly but be prepared to contend with a lot of people insisting on offering to bring you on tours of Medina etc, this was the only annoying thing I found on the trip but very hard to avoid. Very cheap restaurant called "La Union" in Teteoun, taxi service is excellent and cheap.
I spent only one night, the rooftop was quite cool, in front of the mountains, the receptionist lady was nice to me. The shower was hot...
What i loved the most in this riad is the kindness of one ladies who work in there, she was very kind to me, and she gave me slipper when i need it..., ill definitely come back one day.
Well i can tell that this riad will have great future. Since it well decorated & well organised.
If mix that with the kindness of the staff's. The result could be the best riad in Tetouan.
Mr Abdlmounaim, and his team in reception & Mr Abdelhamid in breakfast pushed this review to 10/10.
They were very friendly and worked really hard to make you feel like a valued guest.
The hotel is centrally located in the city, which make it easy to get everywhere
Pros: decent breakfast, beautiful lobby, attentive and welcoming/friendly staff.
We came to stay one night, and ended by 4 nights and counting ..
Thank you for the awesome experience.
We really wish you all the best in your business.
I had an absolutely fantastic time at this hostel! The team, especially Marwan, were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The panoramic view of the Tetouan mountains from the rooftop was absolutely stunning and truly enhanced my stay. Marwan, the owner, went above and beyond to make me feel like part of the family, making my stay truly unforgettable. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and would highly recommend this hostel 🕺.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Nabil and Youness were incredibly helpful and available whenever needed. Youness kept in touch with me from the time I booked and made it easy for me to find the hotel. The room was comfortable and exceptionally clean, as it's a brand new hotel. The price was perfect, and the location was great. I highly recommend this hotel!
I like everything about this riad, the vibe, the staff, the athmosphere and the location is so great, the hostel riad is a great mix between what's cutural, traditional ( the riad is from the 17th century) and what's modern and universal. I highly recommend the riad, my stay here has been a great experience ,everytime i go to tetouan i automatically go there.
Unbeatable location, right in the town's centre, so easy to find which is a rarely the case in Morocco. Lovely owner, she's kind and welcoming, a pleasure to meet her. Super clean and tidy, spacious and bright room, breezy, balcony, spotless bathroom, excellent bed. Best value for money in Tetouan, would definitely stay again.
The location is good, from CTM station easily walk to , crossing the park by using stairs will short your trip(google map doesn’t know). The host is very nice, and he played piano in the evening. The breakfast is Morocco standard with one boiled egg. The riad is well decorated inside and outside.
In the heart of the city Tetouan a vivid place you find this calm and clean place call a home. The hostel is well located to reach gate de routiere for the destinations like Chefchaouen or to Supratoues to Martil at the beach and CTM Busses. Laundry is available too.
Mr. Lutfy and Naima are the best hosts and best people in Morocco. The Riad itself is lovely and calm and so peaceful and relaxing. I enjoyed the best time here and actually extended my stay as it was so enjoyable ☺️. I would highly recommend this Riad 💕
Makarim is a great, calm and very well-located hotel. The view is magical. The infrastructure and environment are perfect. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The nearest mosque is located around the corner. I highly recommend Hotel Makarim.
The receptionists are very helpful and welcoming and gave me two rooms to choose from, the hotel location is near by the markets, restaurants and cafés
The housekeeping is prompt and attentively tidy and neat.
Hotel located at the heart of Tetouan nearby the old medina and various restaurants/services. The balcony in the suite room gives a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains.
the hostel is located exactly at the city centre of Tétouan and walking distance to the medina & the Royal Palace
- beds were comfy & clean
- good shower (water pressure)
