We were in the Turquoise cabin. The location was the perfect base for exploring the Golden Circle and the neighbouring Selfoss. It was also convenient to Keflavik Airport as well as Reykjavik. In the town, there are restaurants, cafes, bars, grocery shops and petrol stations if you just want to hang about the village. We walked to the brewery our first night - everything’s within a 10-15 minute walk. There’s also some hiking and thermal springs close by (we didn’t get to dip in the springs because we ran out of daylight). On to the property - it was like being home and living near a friendly neighbour. It felt very private and the cabin was very warm in freezing temperatures. (once we identified the one window that was left on breathe!) There was everything we needed for cooking/eating and the coffee machine was a bonus. There’s no cable TV, but that was perfectly fine - we just cosied up to some Netflix movies at the end of the day (when we weren’t in the sauna or hot tub). The bathroom was spacious and clean and soap, etc. was available, which was unexpected and handy. The bedroom was comfortable for the both of us. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we sleep like babies the entire stay. Our favourite parts of our stay were the sauna and hot tub. We enjoyed a couple of sauna sessions during our stay and spent a few nights in the hot tub. On our last night, we were slightly bummed that we didn’t see the northern lights and around the time we were thinking to get out, they appeared and put on the most beautiful show. We didn’t have our cameras, but it’s a memory that will live with us for a long time. Last, but not least, the hosts were incredible and friendly and available when we needed them. They were also very communicative before and during our stay. We’ve been considering a second trip when the weather improves, and if we’re down that way, we Weill certainly stay in the Backyard Village again.

Hólar countryside cabin 1 se nachází v destinaci Selfoss. Ubytování nabízí terasu a neplacené soukromé parkoviště. Ljósafoss se nachází 39 km odtud. The cabin was really great. Small, but it had everything we could ask for, and more. A lovely handwritten note from the owner and welcome sweets were waiting us! The area around the farm was beautiful, the kids walked around and saw the horses 😊 Everything was really clean and tidy.

Gljásteinn by Golden Circle se nachází v destinaci Laugarvatn a nabízí terasu a výhled na hory. Geysir se nachází 33 km odtud a Vodopád Gullfoss 43 km. EVERYTHING! We had 2 weeks in Iceland and travelled around the country. We stayed in 5 different locations, all special and unique. But Gljásteinn was a little corner of paradise. Róbert built his house with so much passion and love and respect for the nature around it, it is very impressive. He was there to guide us, to give us some good tips about where to eat, what to explore, and the whole experience was simply wonderful.

Aurora Cottage on the Golden Circle se může pochlubit výhledem na hory a poskytuje ubytování s balkonem a varnou konvicí. Národní park Thingvellir se nachází přibližně 47 km odtud. Extremely courteous hosts and the location is the best if you are looking for a quiet and tranquil spot in the Golden Circle. It is a huge house with multiple beds and it's a perfect place for a family trip.

Margrétarhof se nachází v destinaci Hella a nabízí bezplatné Wi-Fi, zahradu s terasou a volný vstup do vířivky. Ljósafoss se nachází 45 km daleko. Na místě je k dispozici soukromé parkoviště. Krásné, čisté ubytování. K dispozici pračka, myčka, sušička,...osobně jsem nevyužila (kromě myčky) i tak bylo moc přijemné. Na terase byl gril, taktéž jsme nevyužili, ale vířivku ano :-)

Black Beach Farm se může pochlubit výhledem na moře a poskytuje ubytování s patiem a varnou konvicí. Vodopád Skogafoss se nachází přibližně 33 km odtud. The place was very clean. It smelt clean, fresh bedding and towels. Communication and location was great.
