We were in the Turquoise cabin. The location was the perfect base for exploring the Golden Circle and the neighbouring Selfoss. It was also convenient to Keflavik Airport as well as Reykjavik. In the town, there are restaurants, cafes, bars, grocery shops and petrol stations if you just want to hang about the village. We walked to the brewery our first night - everything’s within a 10-15 minute walk. There’s also some hiking and thermal springs close by (we didn’t get to dip in the springs because we ran out of daylight). On to the property - it was like being home and living near a friendly neighbour. It felt very private and the cabin was very warm in freezing temperatures. (once we identified the one window that was left on breathe!) There was everything we needed for cooking/eating and the coffee machine was a bonus. There’s no cable TV, but that was perfectly fine - we just cosied up to some Netflix movies at the end of the day (when we weren’t in the sauna or hot tub). The bathroom was spacious and clean and soap, etc. was available, which was unexpected and handy. The bedroom was comfortable for the both of us. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we sleep like babies the entire stay. Our favourite parts of our stay were the sauna and hot tub. We enjoyed a couple of sauna sessions during our stay and spent a few nights in the hot tub. On our last night, we were slightly bummed that we didn’t see the northern lights and around the time we were thinking to get out, they appeared and put on the most beautiful show. We didn’t have our cameras, but it’s a memory that will live with us for a long time. Last, but not least, the hosts were incredible and friendly and available when we needed them. They were also very communicative before and during our stay. We’ve been considering a second trip when the weather improves, and if we’re down that way, we Weill certainly stay in the Backyard Village again.

Located in Selfoss, Hotel South Coast features a restaurant, fitness centre, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. Each accommodation at the hotel has city views. Sauna is available. Great option if you're looking for a place to stay around Selfoss. The hotel is located in the downtown area, just a few minutes’ walk from all the restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was good as well.

Tento penzion se nachází na rodinné farmě se zvířaty. Centrum Selfossu na jihu Islandu je vzdálené 7 km. Wi-Fi, sauna a venkovní vířivka jsou k dispozici zdarma. Accommodation was great! Owners were very nice and helpful, rooms were clean and quiet, breakfast was a great start for the day and location was just perfect for day trips. Closest city Selfoss (9 km) were very good for dining, to buy food and other shopping. 👍😊

Situated by River Ölfus in Selfoss, Hotel Selfoss has a spa area, which features a sauna, a steam room and hot water tub. WiFi is free. Great view of the river from our room. Spacious. Free parking!

Tento hotel se nachází na hoře Hengill, 18 km od národního parku Þingvellir (Thingvellir), zapsaného na seznamu světového dědictví UNESCO, a nabízí vlastní restauraci s nabídkou severských specialit a... It was remote so you travelled where you would not normally go. The drive there around the lake was spectacular. The spa was inviting and had great views. The room was modern and spacious.
