Honestly, it's one of the greatest spots and places I've stayed in Japan. Throws you back to a family house you never had with all the nostalgia of how i imagine weekends away were as a child at grandparents or aunts. The location, township, and people, especially our host, were nothing short of amazing

The hot springs were great, the food was excellent and the portions were enormous. The service was wonderful and friendly.

Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. Stunning place between the mountains with natural hot springs. The hotel has secluded rooms with private pools with a wonderful view of the forest and garden. Spacious rooms with tatami mats, where they served us dinner and breakfast. The dinner was definitely a great experience and totally worth the money. The same goes for breakfast. Stuff was extremely attentive and really kind. Our biggest regret is that we have booked only one night.

Auberge Hidanomori se nachází v tichých kopcích, 10 minut jízdy kyvadlovou dopravou od stanice JR Takayama. V roce 2022 byl znovu otevřen po rekonstrukci. The owner/chef and staffs were all incredibly welcoming. The feeling of total peace and serenity was indescribable. Also, the fact that there was no television in the room, lets you truly enjoy the nature that surrounds you.

Yatsusankan starší 6 let se nachází 6 minut chůze od vlakového nádraží JR Hidafurukawa a nabízí ubytování v tradičním japonském stylu s prostornými veřejnými lázněmi. I came here for my birthday. Unfortunately we didn't get there until late around 8pm, due to trains and train problems: they leave Nagoya every 2 hours and ours was delayed (so give yourself time to get there at a reasonable time) {I phoned them to let them know we would be late},you will also need to take a local train from Takayama. It was raining and we were cold and tired. Since we were late I wasn't sure if we would get supper even though I had paid for it. But thankfully we did and the food was excellent! Very fancy! We ate in a private dinning room looking out on to a garden. Our room was excellent! It was quite big for Japan. There was tatami mats, interesting monkey scroll in the alcove, interesting classy furnishings even the bathroom sink was beautiful. The hot springs/ baths were very good , I enjoyed the outdoor ones which had beautiful gardens. I loved wandering the halls of this ryokan lots of traditional architecture and art work (a beautiful folding screen). You really can feel the history of this hotel.

Really nice and cosy accommodation. The hosts were very friendly and went above and beyond to help us when we needed it. Highly recommend.

Gujo Hachiman is a lovely small town, and あぽろん is ideally located as a base for a visit. The accommodation is shared with the owners, but is private. Bedrooms are upstairs, but the bathroom and toilet is downstairs. The hosts were very helpful, despite having limited English, thanks to Google translate.
