We stayed at Hotel E (the renovated historic courthouse) right in the heart of Santa Rosa. Lots of activities within walking distance of a close drive (1/2 hour or less). The hotel was a delightful place to stay. For those not interested in wine tasting, some suggested activities that we did all in 2 1/2 days, 1) Safari West 2) Armstrong Redwood Preserve 3) Occidental (lunch at the Altamont General Store 4) Walk through downtown Sebastopol 5) Visit to the Charles Schultz Museum 6) Lunch (or any meal) at Mo'z right off Court House Square in Santa Rosa 7) Dinner at Ca Bianca 8) A walk around the lake at Spring Lake Regional Park.

Santa Rosa has been called many flattering things all of them well deserved. You get enough sunshine, enough cool coastal air. And there is a lot to do. Definitely if you’re doing an extended stay a value selves of Olivers market, Pacific market, and even Safeway to save money on food. The best restaurants in Sonoma county are the restaurants based around California Cuisine and local ingredients and those can either get pricey, or have odd opening hours.
As far as Safari West is concerned, they are a breeding facility and should be avoided. No true sanctuary breeds big cats or other exotic animals animals in captivity. They’ve also had tragedies there with breeding which is to be expected because exotic animals don’t breed well in captivity as a general rule. There are plenty of exotic animals that need homes breeding. That makes absolutely no sense. So please boycott Safari West.
You’re close to the ocean, you’re close to the forest and so much more. Don’t miss an opportunity to travel to this very beautiful city

Well restored old town area, convenient and hassle-free airport, good golf courses, lots of historical attractions (Luther Burbank home and gardens and Charles Shulz museum and ice rink are must sees), lots of shopping at all price levels, lots of restaurant options, and Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa JC are near by.

Dinner at the Bird and the Bottle in Santa Rosa was very good. Looks like they have several good restaurants, we will probably be back. It's a reasonable distance from the South Bay but you feel like you've gotten away. Last time we went to the Luther Burbank gardens which was very pretty and informative.

As I stated, the staff was pleasant and efficient and the property was kept a high quality of cleanliness! My only complaint is the lack of and or availability of a coffee maker for our room which is a bit of a dealbreaker yet in the scheme of things is alright! Thank you for asking for our opinion!

We live here in Santa Rosa so some of these questions above aren't relevant to us. Santa Rosa is well located to visit Sonoma wine country, the beautiful West County and coastal Bodega Bay. Easy drives to Sonoma, Healdsberg, Sebastopol, Petaluma, all beautiful towns.
Very new hotel. Comfortable , nicely decorated, and spacious rooms. Staff was very nice. Outdoor Pool and hot tub were clean and loved making use of them. Best in the morning and early aftrrnoon as later they are in the shade. But still nice. Free breafast was pretty good - i liked the waffle machine. Having a mini fridge and microwave in the room was a really nice perk. Allowed us to save a bit of money on a meal when we were sick of restaurants! Well situated for activities in Sonoma. Overall very happy with our stay- good value hotel.
The stay was a mixed bag - in some ways it was very lovely, but there were some significant issues that make me unsure if I would stay again. To start with the good things - the hotel itself has been fully renovated and the decor is quirky in all the best ways, the courtyard is amazing and the location is great. In the middle - the rooms are on the smaller side and there are no elevators so if you're placed on the 2nd floor you will have to walk up stairs so be sure to mention it when reserving if that will be a problem for you.
The hotel was within 15 minutes drive from where I needed to be in Santa Rosa. It was pleasantly situated and had an in-room air conditioner and tiled shower. The microwave and refrigerator meant that we could breakfast in the room, before facing the day. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean when I checked in. I did not use the hotel pool, but the family swimming in it looked like they were enjoying themselves.
I didn’t know there was a breakfast?
Sadly, the kuerig coffee maker in the room was broken. It would turn on but not brew. It was about 5am when I tried it so I couldn’t call down for a replacement. Man I really wanted a cup! The remote for the tv didn’t change channels either. I told the manager when I left. He said he would take care of it. But the room was super clean and the bed was comfortable.
Beautiful hotel with options of new modern rooms across the street from the historic building, or rooms in the historic building that have a nostalgic feel. While there is no breakfast included with the stay, the restaurant in the hotel serves amazing breakfast for purchase. I do recommend that you make a reservation for breakfast (if they accept them) as it is a popular local spot for breakfast.
The room was comfortable, with space for a table, desk, refrigerator and microwave, as well as a king-sized bed and television. I appreciated the two bathroom shelves--perfect for toiletries and the after-shower change of clothes. I had stayed at this hotel before and this room was as well-appointed as the other.
The pool - the bar - the main waiting/lounge area - the outdoor fire pit.
It was all great! Nice to be out after so many months of staying at home.
Hotel is centrally located - about 800m to downtown Santa Rosa, restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores.
Everyone was disciplined about indoor mask wearing.
absolutely loved the location..i was in Santa Rosa to run the marathon and this hotel is literally steps to the start. The hotel staff were excellent and allowed me a late check out so i could get ready for my flight home without being too rushed.
Beautifully designed and comfortable modern room in this central renovated building in Santa Rosa. Great location close to many restaurants and the Wednesday farmer's market. Friendly staff. Easy to park at the garage just across the square.
The hotel, rooms, pool and restaurant are really amazing. The bed is so big and soft, slept very good! And the staff was really friendly as well. Would definitely stay here again!
