This is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

Nastanitev mt. Inn(マウントイン） se nahaja v mestu Nihommatsu, 10 km od znamenitosti železniška postaja Nihonmatsu, in ponuja vrt, brezplačno zasebno parkirišče, skupni prostor za druženje ter teraso. Breakfast was very nice. I enjoyed the japanese breakfast with fish; curry, oden with miso soup and rice. The osen would clean and not crowded. The area is great for hiking for all levels. I 76 yrs old...but the hike downhill from the hotel was beautiful. The few shops provide manji and cookies for purchase. The wifi was excellent. The local bus to Nihonmatsu is very cheap.

Nastanitev Takasagoya Ryokan je v mestu Zao Onsen. Ta ryokan s 3 zvezdicami nudi sobe s klimatsko napravo, s skupno kopalnico in z brezplačnim WiFi. everything, their excellent hospitality, delicious food, affordable rate and the free onsen nearby is unbeatable. Definitely I’ll go back again

Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, Okawaso offers accommodation in Aizuwakamatsu, 13 km from Aizu Higashiyama Onsen. Each room at this ryokan is air conditioned and comes with a TV. We wanted to visit the so-called Demon Slayer castle hotel. It’s out of the way so we rented a car rather than take transit. The drive itself was four hours from Tokyo. From the parking lot staff, to front desk, housekeeping and everyone there… the staff were all amazingly kind and patient. Not everyone speaks English, but there are a few. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very ryokan style (tatami) and the onsen was super clean. We had Kaiseki dinner and it was quite the experience. Food was delicious at dinner and the buffet lunch was traditionally Japanese. The stand out for us was the AIZU yogurt and AIZU maple syrup made from local chestnut trees. If anyone at Ookawaso reads this, please accept our thank you. You were all wonderful and we hope to visit from Canada again someday. Thank you for your patience with my eight year old son and our horrible Japanese.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. The entire experience was extraordinary. We were greeted with welcome drinks in front of a fire, and led to our room by courteous but hospitable staff. Our 3-person room faced a quiet garden, and we enjoyed delicious cake and tea before being led to the dinner. There was a pair of yukata and a pair of more modern pajamas in the room, along with a warm jacket and a pair of socks for each person. There was a toilet in our entrance hall, and a sink and mirror in the room. Dinner and breakfast were both served in an independent Japanese room located in the older building, and our server conversed with us in fluent Mandarin and English. We loved the exquisitely made Japanese dinner and breakfast, every single small dish and platter of it! The two hotsprings were also delightfully pleasant. The indoors medicinal bath was small but very clean, while the outdoor bath was much more spacious. For some reason, we did not meet many people using the bath either in the evening or the morning. We opted for a shuttle bus to leave the hotel in the morning. The hotel was very helpful with answering questions and reserving shuttle service through the booking.com chat room in English. We were extremely happy with our stay, and hope to stay longer next time.

Nastanitev Aoni Sanso je v mestu Senboku, 7,6 km od znamenitosti termalni vrelec Nyuto, in nudi vrt, brezplačno zasebno parkirišče, skupni prostor za druženje ter bar. The food was amazing. The people were very nice and helpful.

Boasting natural hot spring baths, Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya is located a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station, 50 km from Sendai. This place is a wonder. The staff is great, and exceeded my expectations with their service. This hotel has an Onsen, which can be problematic for people with tattoos, but the staff made sure that I can go in and use the Onsen anyways, just had to make sure it was empty beforehand. I would highly recommend staying at this place while visiting Yamagata
